The movie really drives it all home eh? Talk about both hands caught in the cookie jar, so they tossed her under the bus to shake her out, and hide the reality of their deeds.
Does it get any more blatant than that?

I guess biggest military = Yeah, we did it...so what?

thanks to Bullion_Bob, i will add this to my Netflix.
not that i expect to learn anything, but it's not like i learn anything from listening to The Closer. ;D
i have read dozens of articles about it, and i still don't feel like i understand it all yet.
my understanding is that she worked with a front organization, and that her real job was to track nuclear weapons materials and to generally do what was necessary to be an expert on nuclear weapons proliferation.
so her hubby Joe Wilson writes an article opposing the Iraq War, and they toss a nuclear weapons proliferation expert under the bus. WTF ??
that makes no sense !
it makes me think that Valerie had information that the Neocon Zionists didn't want to come out. so they went for the two-fer - showed her "diplomat" husband not to speak out against the Iraq War, and shut down something that Valerie was working on.
it may have been related to 9-11, or another sick Israeli dream, e.g. fvcking with Iran.
but there would have to be a massively huge motivation to break a rule that even Bush supporters knew shouldn't be broken.
Cheney/Rove risked alienating Bush's entire base - before the 2004 election.
just because of hubby Joe's op-ed ?
as far as controlling the legislators (Rep's + Senators), i think they got the message when the Dem's were sent anthrax, and when Wellstone was assassinated.
it's not like hubby Joe's op-ed was going to stop the Iraq War from happening.

After watching it will be crystal clear.
In a nutshell Plame got in the way of the Niger forgeries i.e. the "aluminum tubes" "yellow cake", and the whole Colin power "mobile weapons of mass destruction trucks" as it was plames job (and quite a career at that...20yrs). It was so clandestine her position that much of what she was doing in Iraq is still classified.
All the evidence pointed to no weapons of mass destruction, so they leaked her identity (aka fired her and much much more by simply leaking her identity...talk about a shit storm of a new waking reality), and then they went on to bomb the living daylights out of Iraq, with "shock and awe".
Make up a story, bomb the crap out of another country, and sacrifice anything that gets in the way.
Then the whole war on terror ramped up to insane new levels which is really a perpetual crime against everyone. Pretty much guilty until proven innocent now.
For me it's no so much the finger pointing, but what others the world around will think when it all becomes common knowledge.
Probably not going to be a good thing from a peaceful perspective.

I guess in the past people would just kill other people because they simply didn't like the looks of them...straight up.
I wonder at what point that starts happening again on that premise.

Mr. Libby was sentenced to thirty months of prison, two years of probation, and a $250,000 fine. In making the sentencing decision, the district court rejected the advice of the probation office, which recommended a lesser sentence and the consideration of factors that could have led to a sentence of home confinement or probation. I respect the jury’s verdict. But I have concluded that the prison sentence given to Mr. Libby is excessive. Therefore, I am commuting the portion of Mr. Libby’s sentence that required him to spend thirty months in prison. My decision to commute his prison sentence leaves in place a harsh punishment for Mr. Libby.[35

That's the icing eh?
Outs a CIA agent, lies under oath in the supreme court, super light sentence, and it gets commuted. Libby went on record saying Bush, and Cheney authorized the leak.
