Question......do mountain lions comes with a brownish color of fur or only yellow?........in one of my monitors I saw what appeared to be a big dog in the back of my property just sitting there doing nothing
its back was to me so I said "HEY YOU" the danm thing turned around and looke at me for about therty seconds and then came running like a bullet.......lucky for my I was a hell of a lot closer to the gate than him, or she, was to me ........I got hold of one of my toys and of one of my tazers and went back again to see if I could find him ................................just went running past one of my monitors.............I didn't see him anywhere, till just now.
To fast to be a dog and it jump-runs rather than just run..............so, do they come in a brownish color? if they do then it was a mountain lion.
My cat is staying locked in tonight even if it craps and pee on the rug.

Just put some dirt or sand in the bottom of a box and show your cat where it is. Most cats like to bury their waste and teach themselves.

Those cats are starting to show up here again, Ponce the ones I have seen were kinda tan colored, but they can run from slightly dark brown to dark grey.

Sounds like a mountain lion to me ponce
I seen one last spring here in Iowa that I had to take a double take after thinking it was a sheperd.
Funny thing was dogs dont have rounded ass end like a cats do that my brain said take another look.
Sure enough second look and confirmed a mountain lion walking a fence line at about 6:30 pm in upper east Iowa along the Mississippi bluffs.
Found out later a man hunt for a mountain lion just 5 miles north of where I seen this one was after mulling a boy playing in his back yard. Boy turned out ok! Cat was shot dead.
I guess these large cats are coming down from south dakota where I hear they are being chased out from lack of food.
Nothing to be screwing around with in the dark Ponce!
I carry my 45 now when out picking Blackberries or messing around in the woods.

I tried to find the recording in my four cameras recording but I don't know how to do it, the instruction for the same were just four pages stapled together......I know that they are there somewhere.
By the way, thinking about the face and the ear, it looked to me more like a .....Linx?......is that how you say it.......I am thinking that the face was more of a cat than a mountain lion and the ears were to perky, sticking up and furry.
I am not even sure but I think that my recorder is on sinse I turn it on.....I am saying this because in the upper left hand corner there is something that slowwwwwwwwwwwly counting down, it started at 100% and is now down to 96.1%.

Lynx do not have a long tail.
And as far as equipment goes, the manly way is " If all else fails---Read the instructions!" ;D

A skinny bear?
You can usually tell the difference between canine & feline immediately, just from the way it moves.
But could see mistaking a skinny bear for a dog.

Edit: Ponce 7 feet of fence will not stop a big cat! Unless it is a totally enclosed cage.

If it was a mountain lion that charged you, there was something wrong. They avoid contact with humans at almost any cost. The only reason they would go toward you is if it was very hungry or cornered or rabid.

Keep your pets in at night, and I hope your cat does not get the wandering thing most cats do. Big Cat + Small Cat = Dinner!

i saw a track of something, either a big dog (3 inches wide paw-prints) or a cat - there were 4 toes in the print.
or it was a bear (5 toes), and 2 of the toes got smushed in the print.
what was attention-getting was the length of the nails. LONG.
i wondered if mountain lions ever un-retract their claws when they are relaxing & drinking water. i.e. let their claws out so they can be seen in the mud foot print.
thought i'd put out a bucket of water for it whatever it is. maybe i'll put the bucket in the middle of the muddy area, to get some more prints.

SPOKANE, Wash. – Authorities are trying to track a pack of dogs that has killed about 100 animals in nighttime forays in northeastern Washington state — attacks that have claimed goats, a llama and other farm animals and raised alarm that people could be targeted.
Authorities are warning residents to take whatever steps are necessary to protect their families and animals because the dogs appear to be killing for fun rather than food.
"We have this pack that is out there killing for the sake of killing," Stevens County Undersheriff Lavonne Webb said Thursday in a telephone interview. "What is going to happen if they come across a small child?"
The killings started in late March and have occurred in a wide area of mountains and valleys west of Deer Park, a small town about 40 miles north of Spokane.
"Trying to figure out where they are going to hit is next to impossible," Webb said from Colville. "Nobody is claiming ownership of any animals involved in the pack."
Most recently, the dogs killed a 350-pound llama Tuesday night. They've also killed goats and other farm animals.
Officers and volunteers have searched for the pack but had little success because the dogs seem to hunker down during the day and move only at night, she said. "We've only had one or two sightings during daytime hours."
One resident managed to take some photographs of the pack, and it seemed to include four or five large dogs. It's not clear if the dogs are wild or if some or all go home to owners during the day, Webb said. Their breeds also are unknown.
Webb added she has worked for the sheriff's office since the 1970s and never encountered a similar problem. The number of kills alone makes the attacks a "major issue," she said.
Deer Park resident Temma Davis agreed, telling KXLY-TV that neighbors are worried about kids getting off school buses or riding their bikes.
"They're bloodthirsty," she said of the dogs.
Davis compared the experience to the 1980s Stephen King book and movie about a vicious killer dog. "It's like `Cujo,'" she said.
