Apparently there's was a brawl with 100 people in fricken San Jose last night.

http://sanfrancisco.cbslocal.com/2011/06/09/3-stabbed-in-downtown-san-jose/

Personally I'm kind of a hermit and don't care to go out an view the zombies so I don't put myself in these situations. However, anytime I am out, I do have at least a knife on me, and a legally stored firearm in my vehicle.

I have a feeling that this summer is going to be nuts, so I'd like to urge members, be vigilant 24/7. The riots in L.A. started on a whim, and I knew people that got caught up in it and almost became victims.

DON'T BE A VICTIM.

I'm guessing you are not talking about San Jose, Illinois. (http://www.city-data.com/city/San-Jose-Illinois.html)

1/6 of the town would be involved.

I've been getting the same vibe. Reminds me of 1968.

Same feeling here but unlike Californistan I am allowed to carry a gun with loooots of bullets.

That fact plus my GHB I don't feel too bad.

i'm familiar with that area. i took a class at San Jose State once, so i always ended up parking in the Vietnamese neighborhoods Northeast of the University.

look when it happened - 10 PM on a Thursday. that's the wrong time to be in an urban area, unless you are a streetsmart mo-fo and your guardian angel is watchful enough to keep you 2 blocks away from trouble brewing.

i was always curious about Florence & Normandie, the Ground Zero of the 92 riots. in 2001, i went there. it's sort of a mixed industrial-residential neighborhood.

of course, it was 6 AM in the morning. not much going on. well, NOTHING going on. i was on my way to USC, and street parking for USC is about 1 mile north of that particular intersection that became so famous/infamous.

i think, for self-defense, timing & location is as important as firearms - maybe more important.

oh, and also, paying attention - the one time i got mugged was because i was walking down the street thinking about electronic circuits, not noticing the gang of 4 who were tracking me.

but, yeah, things ARE getting nuts.

and they'll be getting more nuts !

if we could only find out what McDonald's Nancy Pelosi goes to ...

Yep riots from cost to cost in the bigger city's! Today some may bring up the race card , like back when. But the anti war element today is not as strong or will not count at all.

It will be the economey and jobs plus the glaring us/them of the politics of today. This go around if it does happen , will probably make 1968 look like kindergarten compared to What we have hanging over us now.

Hunkering down, is a good thing in light of things that may/will come.

Whoa there fella. Remember, the riots of the 1960’s that peaked in ’68 actually began in ’64.

Just as the riots of the 1910’s that peaked in 1919 began in 1917.

Recent peak years for the generational cycle of racial violence in the U.S. :

1919 “Red Summer.”

Followed 24 years later by the 1943 “Detroit/Harlem/Zoot Suit” riots.

Followed 25 years later by the 1968 “Martin Luther King” assasination riots.

Followed 24 years later by the 1992 “Rodney King” riots.

Which suggests the next round of widespread racial violence should be getting under way soon, but may not peak until 2016 or 2017.

Which would roughly coincide with the end of Obama's 2nd term.

Assuming, of course, there is a 2nd term. If Obama goes "one and done," I'd chop four years off that predicted peak of 2016-2017.

In any event, when Obama goes, blacks riot. Count on it.

Ha ha, that video is awesome! Those lines at the end remind of the saying, "if God didn't want us to have guns, why'd He give us a trigger finger?" LOL

That Warwick video reminds me of what Afro-American music was like during the era of mulatto cultural dominance, before the Black Power revolution of the 1960’s.

Note the constrast between the following, and any contemporary, adolescent, self-glorifying, misogynistic, African hate chant about “bitches” and “hos.”

Yes the young black mind sure gets a huge dose of music pollution these days Quad. Some good stuff mixed in though. The earlier stuff is mostly all great music.

California would not be the crucible of every -ism if we had lousy weather. The sunshine draws carpetbaggers like maggots and in-fills our peace and quiet. Still, it is because of all the turbulence from differing ideas that we get a good mix of things to build on. It may suck to be caught in the wrong part of town for ordinary people but overall things are not bad. The Golden State may be a trainwreck in infinite ways, but it is still California, and there's no other place on earth like it. The fauna that comes with it in terms of racial subsets and their territorial shit disturbing is a by-product you just learn to live with. Properly played on the line it rarely presents problems. When it does there's always blued steel. The San Jose thing was basic chemistry - young hammerheads on the front end of their journey through life like a cross of pit bulls and trained seals. I don't see an increase in markers about personal safety issues so much as the same song played over and over we just want to turn off.
