In a report based on a recent "fact-finding" trip to the Middle East, Senator Mark Kirk of Illinois calls for U.S. naval and special operations forces to support Israel in combating the upcoming flotilla to Gaza.

The IHH (The Humanitarian Relief Foundation) plans to send a second flotilla to breach Israel's coastal security later this month.

Kirk says the U.S. should make available all necessary special operations and naval support to the Israeli Navy to effectively disable flotilla vessels before they can pose a threat to Israeli coastal security
or put Israeli lives at risk.

Kirk says the U.S. should make it clear to Turkish president Erdogan that Turkey will be held accountable for any actions that support or enable the IHH to launch its flotilla.

The flotilla, set to sail to Gaza at the end of this month, aims to nonviolently challenge the Israeli blockade that has suffocated the Gaza Strip. Kirk's call for the U.S. Navy to provide "special operations and naval support to the Israeli Navy" to stop the flotilla is particularly alarming because a contingent of American citizens will be a part of the flotilla. i thought it might be Brad Sherman.

America is a puppet of Israel at this point. using US military forces to stop humanitarian aid, because Israel is whining about oatmeal being used as a weapon.

it's mind-fvcking blowing. that's not my government.

if this were a movie, the US & Israel would be like the Emperor in Star Wars, and the Good Guys would be feeding the Emperor to a ... Wacachoobie ? Chupacabra ? Tasmanian Devil ?

I read somewhere recently that Northrup Grumman moved its corporate headquarters to Falls Church, VA "to be closer to their largest business partners." They join Lockheed Martin and General Dynamics as just some of many defense contractors peppered about the landscape. The official 2012 defense budget for DOD expenditures is slightly over $700 billion. But the extension costs for R&D, operations, and base construction easily pushes it over $1 trillion I suspect. With that kind of feeding frenzy, and with policymakers in Washington nothing but prostitutes to cash from big business and the paranoia of Israel, I'm surprised Gaza hasn't been considered for military intervention sooner than this. The Senator is only an empty vessel delivering the message.

"As outlined by Wes Bush, president and chief executive of Northrop Grumman, the move to the Washington area would bring a staff of about 300 from its current headquarters in California."
