Provocative? Perhaps, but that's nothing new for Time magazine with a history of taking iconic American symbols and using them to make political statements.

On Thursday on MSNBC's "Morning Joe," Time magazine editor Richard Stengel presented the cover of his new July 4 issue, which features the U.S. Constitution going through a paper shredder and asks does the document still matter. According to Stengel, it does, but not as much anymore

The question should be; "Does the Constitution still matter, To who?" (I guess 'to whom' is actually correct, but...)
Because there are those in the government and media that it obviously does not matter to.

But I believe it matters greatly to the American people.
At least to the part who even realize that we have a constitution.

What gets me is the constitution was written in plain language. But much "Interpretation" and effort has been spent over the century's to bend it, to fit certain viewpoints. And every once and a while it is re-bent, other ways to fit more modern viewpoints.

And in the bending they (ptb) can make it mean what ever they want it to.

So in the long run, all it is to them , even if they swear to defend it , is a piece of old paper.

So much hoopa over a very simple to understand work of literary art, and meaning!
