Just got this in my e-mail. Heart stopper,:o until a web search showed the irs does not send e-mails out to people. Plus the misspellings. ;D

To: xxxxxxxxxx

CC:xxxxxxxx,xxxxxxx,xxxxx, and so on all with the first letter in the address.

1. A copy of this letter
2. Notification letter
3. A photocopy of valid U.S. Federal or State Government issued identification.

I got that one too. I filed it with the letters from Nigerian attorneys. It's amazing how many rich relatives I had in Africa.

My mail provider anti virus or what ever stripped the .zip so I could not open it to see what was in it. Once I understood what was up and had the form, there is a good chance I would have done like you did. ;D

Ha ha ha... I thought you wrote you had your Nigerian attorneys handling the reply to the letter! Ha ha ha!
