Too dam hot here to do much, may walk down to the lake and watch others broil and bake them selfs, and more to the point watch the beach lizards. ;D
Plan to beat the hell out of some steak and then chicken fry it, with tatters and white cream gravy. With big chunks of homemade sourdough bread and other fixings.
Then find the coolest place in my house and chill big time.
What say you?

Going to a local Mexican food joint for lunch, then packing a picnic for dinner. Me and the kids are going to get to the park early to set up, have dinner and be ready for the fireworks. Should be a fun day!

not goin' anywhere to party or eat- Might drive up to the family farm to check everything out - was very near a wild fire a couple weeks ago. Gonna go see what the damage was. Otherwise just doing yard work. Not much to celebrate IMO.

Happy 4th everyone!
Me, I tend to stay in when everyone goes out. I'm enjoying a lazing morning, my plans are to put another coat of oil on a wood refinishing project, then grill up some steaks later...and enjoy the fireworks from my view of the town, safe at home. All the turds and zombies will be out firing their guns, it gets batshit crazy here on the 4th.

No fireworks here, threat of fire is too high and I agree. We have suffered some huge fires up around and on our properties in East Texas. We had to cut 25 acres of timber to salvage it in May from a fire last April. We almost got hit again by a much larger fire that started just north of us and probably covered 5,000 acres just two weeks ago.

Here private fireworks are banned because to the dry conditions, first time in years. But my city put on the regular show, at our city lake Friday. Nice to sit on my front pouch and watch them.
That fire down south, from me, The Bearing Fire was total fubar.

What is that, Vail, Breckenridge? I love how you can visit those peaks in the middle of July and still see snow. :)

Wow, that is amazing. Still too early in the season for a Long's Peak climb then. That's beautiful country out there. I miss it. I'd seriously recommend a climb up Long's, it's a challenging climb, but if you can handle the altitude it's well worth it. People fly in from all over the world just to make that climb, and if it's in your backyard, it's right there to view, point, and brag to others you've been up there. Try the keyhole route, start early, descend early and by God don't get stuck in the narrows if the weather turns.

lol....Oh..OK...you mean the one that's gonna swoop in with the death ray? ...lol
On a serious note though,...when I lived in Tucson, just outside of the city was Mt. Lemmon ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mount_Lemmon ) and that's how it was there, hot & dry in the city, drive an hour and you're in a Winter Wonderland....it was really Cool........
