A British holidaymaker has been arrested after stumbling into the wrong hotel room and climbing into bed with a Spanish couple.
Gary Stuart Oddie, 32, was detained after the woman woke up and started screaming when she saw the semi-naked man lying on top of her was a stranger and not her boyfriend.
The couple told police they spent half an hour trying to persuade the Brit to leave their room during an argument which ended up with a lamp being broken.
Mistaken identity: The British holidaymaker was staying at an apartment hotel in Ibiza Town when the incident occurred
Officers were called after he left the room but started banging on the door from the outside.
It was not clear on Monday how Mr Oddie, who was staying in another room opposite with friends, managed to get into the couple's room.
The incident happened at a three-star hotel apartment in Ibiza Town on Saturday morning. Police were called just before 9am on Saturday.
A police spokesman said: The Spanish woman told us she woke up to find the British man lying on top of her.

'She started screaming and her screams woke up her boyfriend who got into an argument with the British tourist.
'A lamp was broken during the row. The couple said they spent half an hour trying to persuade the British man to leave.
'We were called after he left the room and started banging violently on the door from outside.
The police spokesman said that it was unclear how the man had managed to get into the couple's room, and said that he had been arrested for breaking and entering.
'It must have been a very distressing experience for this couple to go to bed alone and wake up with a stranger next to them,' he said.
State prosecutors are understood to have demanded Mr Oddie pay compensation to the couple ahead of a trial.
He is thought to have been released on bail as investigations continued.
Sources close to the investigation said he appeared drunk when he was arrested.
