It amazes me how much people trust their doctors and how much faith they have in allopathic medicine--the drug cure, or the surgical cure appeals to them because they don't have to do anything but pay for it. Too bad it doesn't work very often.
I've been reading Eustace Mullins book Murder By Injection. It supports my attitude that I need to stay away from our health care system at all costs because that is the leading cause of death in America. They should throw out the Caduceus and adopt the Skull and Crossbones for their symbol.

Big Pharma's Latest Shady Ploy to Sell Depression Drugs That People May Not Need
The drug industry is coming up with ever more clever ways to pump Americans full of drugs they may not need -- and that may not even work.
July 4, 2011 |
The discovery that many people with life problems or occasional bad moods would willingly dose themselves with antidepressants sailed the drug industry through the 2000s. A good chunk of the $4.5 billion a year direct-to-consumer advertising has been devoted to convincing people they don’t have problems with their job, the economy and their family, they have depression. Especially because depression can’t be diagnosed from a blood test.
Unfortunately, three things dried up the depression gravy train for the drug industry. Blockbusters went off patent and generics took off, antidepressants were linked with gory and unpredictable violence, especially in young users and — they didn’t even work, according to medical articles!
That’s when the drug industry began debuting the concept of “treatment resistant depression.” It wasn’t that their drugs didn’t work (or you didn’t have depression in the first place), you had “treatment resistant depression.” Your first expensive and dangerous drug needed to be coupled with more expensive and dangerous drugs because monotherapy, one drug alone, wasn’t doing the trick!
You’ve got to admire the drug industry’s audacity with this upsell strategy. Adding drugs to your treatment resistant depression triples its take, patients don’t know which drug is working so they’ll take all of them and the defective drugs are exonerated! (Because the problem is you.)

The problem for most people is that they don't understand that they are sick because of their mind for the most part. If you allow negative emotions and in general, emotions to dominate your mind, you will not be healthy. Your body and mind are supposed to work together but if you allow your body to control your mind, you become weak. Too many people eat poorly because they are emotionally unstable.
The proper practice of Yoga brings unity to the body and mind while strengthening the body against disease and improving overall health. Mental health is improved as well due to the ceasing of the vrittis which are the source of many of the physical ailments experienced by people and for which the pharmaceutical companies claim to provide help. The fact is that pills may just produce a side effect that is worse than what they were intended to address.

I have to agree quite a bit with you here. Everything starts with a thought. A perfect example is getting the butterflies in your stomach feeling when your nervous/anxious about something.
