Yep. Those swine sure took on the "public safety lecturer" attitude fast with the guy, most likely because they realized they couldn't do anything legally...

I was pretty amused with the "we don't want a bunch of people open carrying" part... in effect saying they don't want people lawfully exercising their rights. ::)

They always try to resort to "lecture mode" when they realize that you know you have them dead to rights, but then they just go away.
...and let me tell you, it's a wonderful feeling to realize that you do, while it's happening. But when it's over you just might feel the need for a good clean shower.

Just know that when faced with police officers in a situation like that, if you don't know EXACTLY where you stand relative to the law, it will likely have a very different outcome. Even if you are technically in the right.

Lets face it. People actually excersing their Constitutional Rights in an overt manner scares most people today.
...and sadly, the police today are accustomed to dealing with people who are mostly ignorant of those Rights.

I had to burst your bubble, but it really, really needs bursting - there is no such thing as 'Constitutional rights'. Using such a term demonstrates ignorance. The Constitution is not the source of your rights. Rights come from the Creator and are antecedent to the Constitution.

But you do understand my point about if you don't know what the law says about what it is you are doing, and are getting hasseled by "the man", you don't stand a chance trying to assert yourself or your Rights. No matter where they come from.

I think you're both right, it all depends on exactly what your definitions are for each word you're using. You could also both be wrong, depending on the definitions you're using as well.

Vacuum, I agree with TT's interpretation as it is technically correct and it is what I meant when I made my post.
...and I don't know about him, but I don't like the idea of us both being wrong. lol



Just to be clear, anytime I use the word "Rights" I'm always referring to those of the unalienable type as protected by the Constitution.
When I refer to "Rights" as those handed down by gov decree, I always use the word "civil" in front of it because I have a hard time spelling "privlidge" right. lol
