It's a bit of code called "Ref Control".

What it does is block the referring page info for whatever link you click on.

For example, you get a thread on big gov, guns, PM's or whatever, then someone tosses in a link to cia.gov, and guess what? This forum shows up in their server logs for whomever clicks the link complete with the thread info.

Anyway it's a bit technical but really it's no business of anyone to know the details of where you came from on the internet when you visit a page for where ever you go.

Currently I've only found it for Firefox, but it's really the best browser anyways.

The best version of Firefox...3.6.16 (and many other versions of programs) can be found here:
www.oldapps.com

If you aren't already, consider using ghostery, ad-block plus, ask for sanitize, and better privacy. Google them with the term "firefox" after them. Not sure if version 4 supports them so use v3.6.16.
