Brutality against animals in the streets of Rahat

During recent months, children in the southern town of Rahat, near Be'er Sheva, have taken up a new and cruel pastime - burning dogs alive.
A resident of the predominantly Bedouin city, Salam al-Huzeil, recently filed a complained with the police over the new phenomenon, but said that they did not heed his complaint due to lack of proof.
Al-Huzeil decided to provide the police with proof, and videotaped some children burning a dog alive on his digital camera.
According to Al-Huzeil, the children habitually pour gasoline or another accelerant on the dog's fur and then set them on fire. He adds that the hobby does not end with burning the dogs' fur, but that in some cases the children tie the dogs up to a pole and cut off their legs, leaving them crippled.
"This is a terrible thing, a really ugly phenomenon," said al-Huzeil. "How can you set a dog on fire while it's still alive? These children's behavior is really disgusting. It cannot be that everyone turns a blind eye and no one does anything about it."
Al-Huzeil added that he complained with the Rahat police, but that so far nothing has been done to stop the phenomenon.

Here's a thought thats about 65% on topic (good I think considering the topic) - does at least a small amount of this behavior have anything to do with circumcision? Obviously America is another country that observes the practice a lot so it doesn't account for all of the blood-thirstiness shown here (though the US is more tolerant of violence in movies, etc, than, eg, Europe), but going from a mother's womb then starting out life by getting cut from a knife can't have a positive effect. I know someone who has a memory from 4 days after he was born...so this could possibly have a psychological effect at the deepest level. If not causing, perhaps at least removing defenses to reject the type of behavior shown here.

Burning dogs! Just horrible, really.... It turns my stomach.

However, I once found a dead puppy on a gulf coast Florida beach tangled up in seaweed that still had a big treble hook through its neck.
It had apparently been used as bait for trolling. Probably thrown in alive to squirm.

It makes me want to wash myself clean from such sickening behavior. I suppose the beauty of innocence that we sometimes see in children and pets ls like soap
for the soul.

With love in ones heart, it's impossible to do things like that.
