Most suddenly-popular Twitter hashtags refer to events or celebrities that currently are in the news. But every once in a while, one erupts out of nowhere to capture the mood of the Twitterverse.

The hashtag #fuckyouwashington is currently making the rounds in just that fashion. As explained in a post at tagdef.com, "Thousands of tweets erupted in a matter of hours on #Jul23 protesting the US's failed debt ceiling talks and general policies. Spurred by @JeffJarvis . Seen by some as part of #WorldRevolution or #USRevolution."

A second post helpfully adds, "Our discontent with the way things operate. It's gross."

Although the tag may have been inspired by the current impasse over raising the debt ceiling, it seems to have released a much wider sense of frustration. Within a few hours, message boards like Democratic Underground were gathering some of the best tweets using the tag.

"#FuckYouWashington For Forgetting WHO you represent, Families, Elderly,Moms,Kids, WORKERs..NOT the CoporatePigs who you cater to...#ShameOnU" one reads.

"#fuckyouwashington for sending our soldiers on 6, 7, 8 tours to combat zones yet thinking it's too much to ask the richest to pay taxes" say another.

And @YourAnonNews -- a Twitter account associated with Anonymous -- tweeted, "#FuckYouWashington for thinking activists are the same as terrorists."

Other tweets gathered by CBSNews blasted Washington for everything from the handling of last year's Gulf of Mexico oil spill to the criminalization of marijuana to going after WikiLeaks while not holding Bush administration officials accountable for torture.

Jarvis is a journalism professor at the City University of New York, an expert on new media, and the author of What Would Google Do? Late on Saturday evening, he tweeted, "OK, my fellow citizens, it's up to you now," as though he felt content with what he had accomplished, but since then he has continued to promote use of the tag in his own tweets.

On Sunday morning, Jarvis retweeted a message from AnonyOps -- another account associated with Anonymous -- saying, "@jeffJarvis you've started a shit storm. Nice going." That seems to sum up much of the current feeling.

They are whining for more free shit. I don't see much of realizing that d.c. isn't the solution.

Said by a woman? It is controlled from the start and will be from the end. This forum seems to have no balls lately

I don't think they are looking at D.C. as a solution, but the problem. After all, they are calling themselves "FuckYouWashington", right?

I disagree. Look at all the brainwashing going on about suspecting your blonde haired, blue-eyed neighbor as a "terrist". All that shit, the "See something? Say something" campaign, the kids being taught to think everyone is a muslim extremist, the slandering of true patriots, etc.

The do consider dissentors as homegrown terrorists.

It looks like they are slowly waking up. Slowly.

Aware enough about the insider criminal destruction of their society that they have noticed the birds don't sound as sweet as they used to. A step above its cloudy, I feel grey.

I've been wondering for near a year Awoke why the self described 'progressive left' that seems it should be waking to government crimes, has so much hate for the right, but also those who are waking up out of the left right game.

For the better part of a year now I've been trying to determine why the anger that should be directed to TPTB Money, Banking and Zio-control system, or those who control it, is directed to fellow compassionite countrymen with a slightly different plan to fix our problems.

While the more aware or active libertarian right may mock the authoritarian left, the more aware authoritarian left acts out with real hate to the libertarian right. (I'm just going to use a simple left and right for the remainder of the article.)

Mike Ruppert, a recently addled 'progressive left' made it all clear for me finally.
It took a really out of place WTF?!? when Mike Ruppert on his radio show called the described Jerusalem Crusader Masonic Templar Zionist Muslim hater and white child killer a "Christian conservative anti-semite". WTF?!?

Then it finally came clear to me after months pondering this irrational hate against the West's fellow man or fellow abused goyim. What the progressive left tends to do is deny Judaic and Zionist and Talmudic actions (NeoCons) negative to civilization and country. The reason they then hate the 'right' what seems like out of place strange vigour is that in denying the most powerful clic of pshychopathy parasitic to the system, they are forced to blame the 'right' goyim for almost ALL these crimes. Then not only does the left irrationally hate the right for crimes that are not of their doing, they then hate the right even more for often rightly saying hey its not us, its 'them'.

This also explains why smart people who should know better like Mike use the nonsense brain addling term (as it is used in western society) 'anti-semite'. When people use it its part of the denial of even considering any Talmudist problem by starting this MSM distributed spell of projecting hate onto the messenger that allows them to hate the messenger.

Leaving us with the addled minds such that people like Mike can even unconsciously be right in their denial, two wrongs make a right, most Jews in Israel are not semites, but most Muslims are. Thus the Zionist Muslim hater really did hate the Muslim Semites, as he supports the White European races practicing Judaism, the largest foreign faction invading semite territory these days after US troops.

With this understanding I now have some insight into why so many goyim working for the facist Zionist controlled 'left' media in Canada are so worried about the facist Zionist controlled 'right' media getting a foothold. While I see little difference between the two (they are told to hate different groups of fellow countrymen) should not the press goyim see themselves as reporting fairly on both the right and left? Not if they project TPTB psychopathy of their company and work onto the 'other'.

America has an 'authoritarian' problem. I know a lot of you here are going to bash me for saying this. Too many people grow up in authoritarian families that emphasize 'structure and discipline'. You do what you're told and you don't attract attention, and you beat up people who are not like you. And you kiss the asses of the people in power. If they tell you that people who think for themselves are terrorists you turn them in, becuz its ok to be a snitch. You'll never get in any trouble if you go along to get along. And if you remain silent while people rob you and do evil deeds. We've become a nation of victims, bound and gagged who warn all the twitter flashers to mind their authoritarian p's and q's, or else they will come for you and send you to a concentration camp where they will work you to death and feed you slop. Better shape up all you slackers out there and stop all that ****** thinking. It's getting dangerous.
