I know I should drink more water, and all the water i do drink is gravity filtered (flouride, arsenic, etc free)
but I am wondering if there are any decent drink flavorings out there?
kool aid? or?
anyone know?
just figure if its not to many calories, if it tastes good, and its cold, i will drink more...

I often queeze a fresh lemon into my water, and sometimes an orange... makes an unsweetened weak lemonade. I like it... breaks up the boredom of just plain water anyway.
I personally wouldn't trust any of the packaged powder mixes... most of them have corn syrup solids, artificial colors, etc.

If you like coffee or tea, you have a lot of choices. Hot, iced, different flavors, etc.
Lime or cucumber slices too.

Switchel.
1 cup of mollasses, 1 cup of apple cider vinegar, 1 tablespoon of ginger. Mix with water to make 1 gallon and drink.
I prefer it full strength when I'm hot and sweaty. Other times I dilute it enough to just take the blandness off of the water.

Mint water, also easy to grow mint at home. Very good on a hot day, sweeten with honey. Add honey to warm enough water to help dissolve honey. Add crushed mint and chill over night, or add crushed mint to ice water and enjoy.

A little fresh mint in freshly made iced tea goes a long way. Mmmmmm.
I drink a ton of water, I usually spice it up with whatever I have around. Just add a splash of really any sort of juice to water. Works for me.

I grow mint here and during summer I make a gallon of sun tea every other day. I add honey too the water and tea when I want sweet tea and outside it goes, shake up the jug after brewed and then chill, add mint and ice or sometimes for a grin if I have been to the store recently, add a tad of dry ice for effect. Brings out the kid in me. ;D
Hard to beat!

There is another one that I make on occasion when the mood strikes. And that is Sassafras tea. The trees grow like weeds around here, also have one in my back yard that I planted years ago to supply me with the fixings for old style root beer ,tea and some cooking. ;D

Off topic but if you have that many trees around consider cutting them up and distilling the essential oil out of them. Stuff goes for $7 an ounce.

A few years ago I heard of a guy with 40 acres of them clearing the land to make pasture. He was able to get a quart or two of essential oil a day and made the operation cash flow. It was either in Missouri or Arkansas.

It was either in Missouri or Arkansas. Yea, short term, not enough land to sustain that kind of production. I'll just pamper my tree , for my occasional plundering of the root.

This is the most healthy drink in the world but I doubt you will be able to buy it........

The principles of tapping the coconut tree blossoms for their sap, bears only minor resemblance to the practice of tapping maple trees for maple syrup production. Containers used to collect the sap are made out of hollow bamboo tubes that are fastened onto the thick fleshy stems covered in small flowers (see photos).
The freshly gathered coconut tree sap is oyster white in color, has a nearly neutral pH, and is already inherently sweet tasting by nature. Whereas, the sap from a maple tree (as well as the juice from an agave cactus) has very little readily available sweetness, and requires long heating times in order to produce the sweet syrup you purchase in the bottle.http://www.coconutsecret.com/sap-process4.jpg
The nutrient-rich coconut sap comes right out of the tree naturally abundant in 17 Amino Acids (the building blocks of protein), broad-spectrum B Vitamins (especially rich in Inositol, known for its effectiveness on depression, high cholesterol, inflammation, and diabetes), Vitamin C, Minerals (high in Potassium, essential for electrolyte balance, regulating high blhttp://www.coconutsecret.com/Coconut-flower-3.jpgood pressure, and sugar metabolism), as well as FOS (a prebiotic that promotes digestivehealth).455

That's a great drink. I used to drink my water that way all the time when I was playing the clubs back in the day. The Bartenders always have lemon slices so it's a good drink to get just about anywere.

Drink the juice and eat the jelly. But as you say, unless you live where coconut trees grow, you will not find them.
