Poor man's night vision

Been out for a few years, only recently learned of it myself. Friend has one and says he can see the Johnson grass moving in the breeze at over 100 yards out at night with no moonlight.

interesting idea. Green lasers get a flogging down here, banned and all that. The platform is more new tech LED torch so it might scrape through if the description reflected that.

The thing that bothers me is if you can see the dot, others can see where the dot is coming from and target it. That would be good for an upper body or head hit! While the laser is on and the beam is sweeping, the source on the gun is doing short arc's giving the bad guys a very good target location.

as i understand it, the earliest form of night vision was the eye patch that sailors and pirates wore in early times...the idea being that during the daytime, you covered one eye, then when the sun went down you would move the patch to cover the other eye, that way you had one eye that was rarely exposed to light, allowing the pupil to dilate so it could utilize more light in the night time. sort of like how the room seems really dark when you turn out the lights, but after you wait a couple of minutes, you have little trouble seeing.

Am I missing something, or is this just a flashlight tuned to wavelength that is efficient for distance vs battery usage?

This device is only for hunting obviously, or against people who don't shoot back. You can buy Russian first gen night vision for much less.

Here is night vision for TRUELY poor people:
This works. I have all the parts for it except for the LEDs, but when I get the time I will order them and put it together as a hands-free headset. I have tested the viewfinder with the Lo-Lux camera, and it's good to go.

This is a new one to me. There are dangers using IR filters on eyewear. These should only be worn at night or something like that. I would have to do some research on it. Looks cool though, and compact.
