. With absolutely no way of determining how overvalued is any particular real estate market, then obviously any/every purchase is a gamble.
Couple that with the most Draconian taxes and ever increasing regulations RE isn't a gamble at all.
Its a Suckers Bet.

I dunno how you can say it is a suckers bet. Shelter is one of the primary things people need to survive. I wouldn't buy a house "hoping to get rich when I sell later" but what is wrong with buying a house to live in for the next 40 years?
Obviously one needs to run the numbers vs. renting for their individual circumstances, But if you're staying put for awhile I don't see how buying isn't better. Especially when you can buy it with ever-inflating worthless "money". Rent always goes up to keep up with inflation. A 30yr fixed gaurantees your payment is what it is and it won't go up no matter what the currency does (excluding insurance and taxes of course...).
Buy a place out of the city and you will get a better deal.
I will agree with the article when they said no one can value the RE accurately (accept maybe the open market). For example, we are in the process of buying a house out in the country. Modest 1120sq/ft full basement on 18 acres. We're buying it for $88,500. The banks appraiser just visited and valued it at $110,000. Home Owners insurance is valuing it at $160,000. Who is most right? The open market of course! I wouldn't ever think that if I turned around and sold it right away I would get anywhere close to the banks appraisal for it.

Two premises:
1) If you cannot pay for anything with gold or silver then you don't own it
2) Even if you pay for something within the plane or venue of the federalized states or any of its' political subdivisions using gold or silver you still don't own it
It is simply impossible to have private property within a communist structure. That is not saying there is not remedy for this trespass. One remedy would be to own it outside the plane or venue of the federalized state. Another (related) remedy would be to create it yourself outside the plane or venue of the federalized state.

Thanks LS. Jeff Neilson has done some great articles in the past on the real estate collapse, including an article on "Bankers' Manifesto" and how it's the banksters' intention to foreclose on America and to impoverish & push the masses to the street where they're easier to control.
Rent always goes up to keep up with inflation.
That's the thing about the engineered destruction of the middle class component of the NWO- rents are determined by renters competing with other renters. When the whole middle class is destroyed, either unemployed or working for $10/hour, reduced to neo-serfs, vacancies rise & rents fall. Even still-solvent renters making 100K/yr aren't going to prop up the rental market; they're not going to pay more than they have to, and their former "competing renters" will have had the rug pulled out from under them.
I agree with what G4T says in this clip about the "real shadow inventory"... (IE everyone who's under water on their homes... currently around 30% of home borrowers nationwide, a number which will climb as values fall further)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?source=patrick.net&v=aCQiVSRGlT4
This is what the banksters are doing with foreclosures,
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TslabdDANX8&feature=relmfu
I wouldn't think of buying real estate for at least a couple more years, as prices fall further, and I can get a better bead on whether the NWO does in fact wish to end private property as the "solution" to the economic armageddon they've engineered. See:

Eliminate your contracts with the political entity you choose to sever ties with. Stop using the zip code or even receive your mail general delivery. Be selective about what you claim to own. Shift from appearance of reality to reality. Be creative. Stop using FRNs.
It is interesting that the body politic of a county is described as towns, cities and townships. No people. So just how is it that you "reside" within this structure? Not only that but if you own LAND take a look at the deed and it likely places your LAND within a township, squarely within the body politic of a county. Possibly that is where the connection is made for taxation? You claim to register LAND that actually belongs to a township?

I totally agree if you find a place that you want to hunker down in then by all means it is better to own
but if you are in RE for the investment side you are absolutely crazy.
The only people that will do well in RE now are the large investors who have politicos on speed dial

That is fine but land cannot be bought or sold. You occupy it. You possess it. You farm it. You live on it. You just don't own it.
Most people don't even have a clue as to what land actually is. Go back and study a little geometry. Land is a volume. A space. It goes to the center of the earth and to the stars above. It is not dirt. It is not mineral. It is not appurtenances. These things exist in the space. Take a look at what it is not before coming to a conclusion as to what it is.
What is bought and sold is PAPER. The paper gets registered. That is so that when you are assigned the land by the communist system they are going to protect you in your possession and your APPARENT ownership. Stop paying those property taxes and the everpresent state is going to prove to you that you really don't own anything at all.
Learn to separate the reality from the appearance of reality. Life becomes more interesting in reality.

Truely a political society (a state) writes laws for its' own members. If you are a member then you had best obey all the laws your society comes up for you to follow. There are less laws to follow if you are not domestic.
