They just called an ambulance to our high school near me, preseason football practice and they are out in 110°F temps. I can see early morning practice, but at night no.
Last night it still was 105° F at 9.00 P.M.
What about the rest of you all in your areas? I understand how important sports are to city's and towns when it comes to high school ball and sports. But where is the line? Between town/city/school pride and putting the kid's in danger?
Personally I believe too much importance is devoted too sports over academia.
What say you?
Edited to correct brain fart.

It's only around 80 here with low humidity. Very nice weather.

U of Chicago cut out all their athletics many decades ago ... it is considered an excellent school. QED.

when you said 'preschool football practice', I thought you meant the under 5 year old group.
Now I realize you probably mean preseason practice. Still deadly & foolish.
