Explosive Jackie O tapes 'reveal how she believed Lyndon B Johnson killed JFK and had affair with movie star'
Former first lady Jackie Kennedy is said to have made the tapes within months of JFK's assassination
Jackie Onassis believed that Lyndon B Johnson and a cabal of Texas tycoons were involved in the assassination of her husband John F Kennedy, ‘explosive’ recordings are set to reveal.
The secret tapes will show that the former first lady felt that her husband’s successor was at the heart of the plot to murder him.
She became convinced that the then vice president, along with businessmen in the South, had orchestrated the Dallas shooting, with gunman Lee Harvey Oswald – long claimed to have been a lone assassin – merely part of a much larger conspiracy.
Texas-born Mr Johnson, who served as the state’s governor and senator, completed Mr Kennedy’s term and went on to be elected president in his own right.
The tapes were recorded with leading historian Arthur Schlesinger Jnr within months of the assassination on November 22, 1963, and had been sealed in a vault at the Kennedy Library in Boston.
The then Mrs Kennedy, who went on to marry Greek shipping tycoon Aristotle Onassis, had ordered that they should not be released until 50 years after her death, with some reports suggesting she feared that her revelations might make her family targets for revenge.
She died 17 years ago from cancer aged 64 and now her daughter, Caroline Kennedy, has agreed to release the recordings early.
John and Jackie Kennedy with daughter Caroline, who allowed the tapes to be released to ABC in return for their cancelling of the mini series about the family
Jackie is said to reveal her affair with actor William Holden, right, which she did in retaliation for her husband's many flings
In the tapes, Jackie allegedly blames President Lyndon Johnson for the death of JFK, who took over the post from her husband after his assassination
Daughter Caroline Kennedy released the 'explosive' tapes
A programme featuring the tapes will be aired by U.S. network ABC, and it is understood British broadcasters are in talks to show it here too.
ABC executives claimed the tapes’ revelations were ‘explosive’.
They are believed to include the suggestion that Mr Kennedy was having an affair with a 19-year-old White House intern, with his wife even claiming that she found knickers in their bedroom.
And they go on to reveal that she too had affairs – one with Hollywood star William Holden and another with Fiat founder Gianni Agnelli – as a result of the president’s indiscretions. It has also been claimed that, in the weeks before Mr Kennedy’s assassination, the couple had turned a corner in their relationship and were planning to have more children.
Historian Edward Klein, who has written several books on the Kennedy clan, said: ‘Jackie regarded the pretty young things in the White House as superficial flings for Jack. She did retaliate by having her own affairs.
‘There was a period during which she was delighted to be able to annoy her husband with her own illicit romances.’
It is believed that Caroline, 53, agreed to the early release of the tapes in exchange for ABC dropping its £10million drama series about the family.
The Kennedys, starring Tom Cruise’s wife Katie Holmes as Jackie, critically charted the family’s political and personal trials and tribulations since the 1930s. The series was eventually broadcast on an independent cable channel, and on BBC2 in the UK, against Caroline’s wishes.

Jackie was a class act and a lady. Politically, JFK was a good man with good intentions; personally he was a horn dog and a fornicative scalawag. Jackie was rather naive for the Washington crowd, surprisingly so.

Back when the main thing the wife was concerned about was family and not much else outside of the home. She was a very privet person.

Not all rich people are evil and bad, particularly the ones who merely inherited the wealth. Jackie came from old money; but her family had lost most of it before she married JFK. The Bouviers were pikers next to Joe Kennedy. She was perhaps shallow and spiteful; but, she was not evil and she was no slut.

Up until the article came out, the majority, including me, never thought about her straying in the past. At least not while she was with JFK. I have no clue about how she lived her private life, but with the new revelations, there are more than likely many more skeletons that were kept in her closet.
The media aura that was placed upon the family seems to direct most of our thoughts to the idea that she was "perfect" (for lack of any better term). Everything is massaged to give us that happy-feely emotion when it comes to the Kennedy clan.
The media and her handlers did their job well.
Anyway, were talking about a dead broad that most( if not all) of us had never met.

At what $$ amount do you consider people rich? I know the grown kids of some rich people (the parents net worth over 20M) who are naive to the world. Mom and Dad always provided so they've never had to think critically.

First Lady’s Assassination Dress To Be Kept From Public Till 2103
http://minnesota.cbslocal.com/video?autoStart=true&topVideoCatNo=default&clipId=9562299
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A Minnesota man is among the few who have seen one iconic piece of history from the day President John F. Kennedy was assassinated: the suit worn by First Lady Jackie Kennedy.
The simple pink suit with black collar and pillbox hat became among the most iconic of modern images, and came to symbolize the day life changed in America.
Mrs. Kennedy wore the outfit, a copy of a favorite Chanel design, while sitting next to her husband in the motorcade in Dallas.
And she wore it on the plane back to Washington when Lyndon Johnson took the oath of office, and when her husband’s casket was off-loaded into a gray U.S. Navy ambulance.
Few people have seen it since.
Minnesota Federal Judge Jack Tunheim is one of them.
“It sits there folded, in a box, on a shelf,” Tunheim said.
He served on the 1990s-era commission that re-investigated the Kennedy assassination, and reviewed the records of the Warren Commission.
He’s handled all of the physical evidence from that day, but says Jackie’s dress is especially haunting.
“It’s still the bright pink that it was the day of the assassination,” he said. “It hasn’t faded.”
The garment is stored in a climate-controlled room at the National Archives in Washington with other assassination artifacts, like the rifle Lee Harvey Oswald used to kill JFK.
The blood stains are still there, but Tunheim says they are much lighter now. Inexplicably, Jackie’s mother had the dress laundered.
“It’s been cleaned so that you can only see traces of the president’s blood on it, as opposed to the way it looked the day of the assassination,” Tunheim said.
Jackie refused to change out of the dress that day. She said she wanted everyone to see what they did to her husband.
But when the Kennedy family gave it to the National Archives, it added one condition: It cannot be seen in public until 2103.
Tunheim also inspected other artifacts, including the president’s bloody clothes and Oswald’s rifle.
“This dress witnessed that horrible event that day,” he said. “You wonder if has more answers, the answers that we really want to know about the assassination. You wish it could talk.”

By what power, by what right, can a person "seal" something beyond their own lifetime?
By what right, does the government of 1963, tell the people of 2013 that they may not read or see or listen to something?

I think the government of today honors the wishes of the government of 1963 in the hopes that the crimes committed and hidden today will be kept secret by future governments... Of course that should change when/if honest people get into government. Obama even lied about becoming transparent...
