But, what he made has no real relation to the gold Mayan "alien-craft". He kinda replicated the wings but that's it. The gold "alien-craft" or whatever isn't aerodynamic, only the wings might be considered aerodynamic. It's looks like a beetle with artistic wings to me, not a alien spacecraft.

What terrestrial vertebrate or invertebrate has a vertical tail? If you find one, is it indigenous to the area of the Mayans?

I took his process as seeing if a scaled model with the loops (ever seen a plane with loops on the wing edges?) actually could fly.
