Congrats Cortez! Great photo's too. That looks like a tough climb, what was the route rated? Looks like a lot of class 5 parts.

Thanks. Petzold Ridge 5.6 but the left side direct goes at 5.7, spent time on both it seemed like. greatest granite and compack marble I've ever climbed. getting on was tough because too much snow last winter made the normal start impossible to get to. wierd ice seperating from the wall caused me to foot jam between ice and rock and layback off the ice ,while one ice tool was on the hollow ice with rushing water beneath. so hard route finding up 5.8 wet finger crack to proper start. than it was great. upper exum is like you said class 5 but exposed. sent that free to summit!

From my climbing days in Colorado, nothing comes even close to that! Most of my climbs were class 3/4, with an occasional bordline 5 section. I must say I'm truly impressed. That's one great achievement. What a victory to get to the summit.

not sure about your computer, but i click on the thumbnail to enlarge it, then click on the enlarged image. it will give you a larger image you can zoom in on...hope that helps...
ETA--this won't work all the time, some picture file sizes are just too small, i guess...
but it does work the majority of the time...

well my natural progression from skiing to professional ski patrolman to ski mountaineering to ice climbing to full on mountaineering and now i'm working on getting my AMGA guiding certification started as a teenager. I'm 40 now.

when i lived in banff, i would average about 120 days/year in my ski boots, we did some backcountry ski mountaineering in roger's pass, but most of our climbing/mountaineering we did during the summer months...tried ice climbing, liked it, but the gear is crazy expensive...
one time at lake louise, i was privileged to attend an extreme skiing clinic with the egan brothers...learned lots, and it was cool watching these guys doing 60 foot cliff drops and just cruising out. good times! most of the guys i skied with were level 4 instructors...they kept saying i should get certified, but i didn't want to teach tourists how to carve up all my powder! lol
i think its great that you are pursuing your AMGA certification, best of luck to you! i think that would be a very rewarding career!

man squamish and banff would both be so rad to have fun in. thanks for the encouragements. although seeing the Exum guides drag skittish clients up the mountain looked like a drag . either way i've learned alot taking SPI classes (single pitch instructor). cheers

knew a married couple that were both guides for Yamnuska...their house had a 4 sided stone fireplace that went up almost 30ft to the post and beam vaulted ceiling, complete with anchors mounted in the ceiling beams so you could climb no matter what the weather was like outside. the end wall of the house was all windows, made for a beautiful backdrop watching the snow blowing outside while you work out a 5.9 problem in your shorts and shirt on nice warm rock! lol
