As most here know, almost all digital photos keep what is called 'GeoTagging' information inside.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geotagging
Geotagging (also written as GeoTagging) is the process of adding geographical identification metadata (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metadata) to various media such as a Geotagged photograph (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geotagged_photograph) or video, websites, SMS messages, or RSS (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RSS_%28file_format%29) feeds and is a form of geospatial metadata (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geospatial_metadata). These data usually consist of latitude and longitude coordinates, though they can also include altitude (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Altitude), bearing (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bearing_%28navigation%29), distance, accuracy data, and place names. It is commonly used for photographs, giving geotagged photographs (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geotagged_photograph).There are many programs and sites that will pull this info from any pic. Here is an example:
http://regex.info/exif.cgi
I have been researching this for a bit now, and i had an idea come to me. I decided to take a very popular and controversial photo, and delve into its EXIF/GPS info. I used the recent 'White House Situation Room' photo, downloaded from Flicker from the White House.

Copy and paste it into this site:
http://regex.info/exif.cgi
Look at the results! You can see all kinds of info, like location, time of day, time created etc. Scroll down and here is where it gets interesting- Look for 'History Action'. Look how many times it has been converted, derived and saved. It gives you all of the times they saved, converted and derived the photo.
You can also see things like how many times they changed the color coding, etc.
Anyone know the date this photo was 'released' to the public?
Im sure these things can be edited, but this is a good tool for making sure you have turned off ALL of the EXIF/GPS info in your digital camera. Also a good tool for catching the lying parasitic thieves we have as Government and Media.
