WASHINGTON - Workers at Maryland'shttp://images.intellitxt.com/ast/adTypes/mag-glass_10x10.gif (http://www.9news.com/news/sidetracks/213727/337/Mysterious-animal-trapped-outside-of-Md-hospital#) Prince George's Hospital Center have adopted a mythical creature as their new mascot.
The creature has been spotted in the woods where smokers take breaks since the hospital banned smoking June 1, but no one knows what the animal is, so they've named it Prince Chupa, after the chupacabras - the legendary cryptid rumored to exist in parts of the Americas and suck the blood of livestock.
"It's a kangaroo, doghttp://images.intellitxt.com/ast/adTypes/mag-glass_10x10.gif (http://www.9news.com/news/sidetracks/213727/337/Mysterious-animal-trapped-outside-of-Md-hospital#), rat mixed," X-ray technician Joe Livermore said. "It's got a rat tail and a head like a deer. I don't know what it is."

"So we decided to trap it," Livermore said.
On Thursday, Livermore lured the animal with chicken and leftover Chinese food and caged it briefly to get a closer look.
"I didn't know what to do with him," Livermore said. "I didn't know what it was. People said it was a fox, a deer, a dog."
After some close-ups, the animal was released.
Those pictures haven't led to a confirmation of species yet, either.
Those who've been around Prince Chupa said it's shy, not aggressive and suspect there might be more than one.

It's mostly dog, but that's the longest tail I've ever seen on a dog if it's related to one.

Whatever it is, it is not a recognized critter as far as the establishment is concerned. There is more out there than our arrogant scientific community will acknowledge. I once saw a critter when I was young that I am certain is nothing that any zoologist has ever logged or identified. There are strange critters out there people.

It is also very possible that old species that were thought to be extinct have lived in the fringe, secretly propogating for decades and centuries while we thought we had wiped them out. For instance, wolverines in lower Michigan and wolves and cougars. There are cougars in the woods around here, many have seen them but the DNR refuses to acknowledge their existence.
