Earlier this summer, I picked up a Heritage Rough Rider .22lr revolver at a garage sale for cheap. It also came with a .22 magnum cylinder. I picked up several hundred rounds of CCI .22 wfr and never noticed the fine print on the boxes that stated, "not for use in revolvers". Why is this?

This turned out to be a blessing as Ruger makes the 10/22 in .22 wfr.

I don't know why exactly but here are some of my educated guesses:

They are too long so the cyl won't rotate.

Or it can have too high a pressure so there is way to much gas escaping past the forcing cone.

The cartrige case expands to much and they get stuck.

You are good too go!

If they will fit , shoot them. If the ammo is .22 WRF they are shorter than .22 WMR.(magnum) They will fit the magnum cylinder and shoot just fine, and with no danger. http://www.rugerforum.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=117511&sid=3118e226ad3c04017625e26af897a008
