Gov. Perry is the best example of what's wrong with American politics. He has no principles, no leadership abilities. He knows a long list of 'buzzwords' and the rest of his vocabulary is bullshit. His constituency is business and wealth, --the bankers and corporatists, not the voters. He is the modern day equivalent of the Maharajas of India who made deals with the East India Company to enslave their people and export all the wealth of India. His appeal is to the ignorant and the gullible. Most of his support comes from the media--not from actual people.

A month ago, I knew nothing about Rick Perry. This week I started seeing YT videos of him. He reminds me of all the sleaziest. slimiest, corporate appartachiks I have ever known in my entire life. He has that 'make it clear to the slaves' way of speaking. A familiar style that is used by GWBush, Obama, Hillary, Bill Clinton--brimming with Neuro Linguistic Programming--to disguise the Satan that is really speaking. There is about 20% of the population that will fall for this, and because of this and his help from the media and B of A, Rick Perry is a truly dangerous figure on the American Scene.

I have one problem with this...

What we have "caught" here makes it appear as if the problem of political corruption is random and as portrayed in Hollywood(bribes and backdoor dealings)...when it seems that the reality is that the system wide corruption is baked in and much more formulated...what i am saying is, if the conspiracy is as we like to think and things like Bilderberg, etc are what they appear to be, why does this BOA douche even need to come to Rick Bilderberger Perry and tell him this in public?...something doesnt add up to me.

WASHINGTON -- A Bank of America executive offered more than just encouragement to Texas Gov. Rick Perry in a CSPAN clip uncovered by blog ZeroHedge. He offers "help."

After speaking at a Politics and Eggs breakfast in Bedford, N.H., on Wednesday, Perry was approached by a man who then introduced himself to the governor and said: "Bank of America -- we will help you out."

The man appears to be James Mahoney, director of public policy for Bank of America. He serves on the board of the event's sponsor, according to ZeroHedge.

Politico confirmed that it was Mahoney in the video. A spokesperson told Politico that Mahoney was offering "nonpartisan policy expertise."

Since 2003, Perry's campaigns have received more than $125,000 from Bank of America's PAC and executives, according to ThinkProgress.

Bank of America sent a statement to HuffPost:

Bank of America does not endorse Presidential candidates. The reference was about following up on the substance of the speech about job creation and economic growth. Discussing policy issues that affect our company and our customers is something we do with policymakers of both parties routinely at the local, state, and Federal levels.

I enjoy browsing HuffPo. Been doing so for years. I cannot recall what led me to it. I like the large picture previews on the news articles and the strong sense of community that they have there. I used to browse news.yahoo.com, a similar community centered news site, but, the layout and lack of picture previews was a disappointment.

After the candidate's speech at the Politics & Eggs forum, Jim Mahoney, the bank's policy director, approached Perry and said: "We'll help you out." The video clip went viral.

Bank spokesman Larry Di Rita said the bank, based in Charlotte, N.C., routinely engages in policy discussions with elected officials and policy makers from both parties and at all levels of government. Mahoney's remark referred to comments in Perry's speech about economic and job growth.

"Job growth and the economy are front and center right now and will be next year, too," Di Rita said. "You bet we intend to keep sharing our perspective and expertise about what can be done to keep the economy growing."


Mahoney is based in Boston and serves on the board of the New England Council, which sponsored the breakfast. He joined Bank of America through its 2004 FleetBoston Financial Corp. acquisition.

He's not the likeliest of Perry supporters. One of his jobs before Fleet was serving as a district director for former Democratic Congressman Joseph Kennedy, according to the Boston Irish Reporter.

UPDATE - While Mahoney isn't a registered lobbyist, he is chairman of Bank of American's New Hampshire PAC -- an influence post focused on dispensing political cash, not a policy post. (Di Rita adds that Bank of America's PAC does not, itself, give money to presidential candidates. But a reasonable inference from the exchange would be that Mahoney was suggesting he'd help organize an event for Perry, not that he'd direct a single, modest contribution his way.)
