This is one more example of people who don't really understand how the system they've chosen to live under, works.

When warned, they should have started giving the lemonade away for the asking. That one cop even told a customer, "no money no money, if they want to give you any for free they'll give you some for free, they're not taking any money". His words showed the way to not getting arrested, and still being able to liberate, ie free, the lemons.
...and the sad thing is that most of the people who bought a cup and then see the news article about it that explains how the "only" thing they did wrong was to not get a permit, they'll figure they deserved it as they probably accept that they themselves would need a permit to vend.
After all, most people have been seeing "permits" tacked to the side of every vending booth at any public event they've attended for as long as they can probably remember.
So why should these people be any different, they'll think.

That said, I don't agree with over-zealous enforcement either.

This startling map is almost a month old, so the problem could actually be much worse.

A red marker indicates a town that has shut down kid-run terrorist stands.

A yellow marker indicates a town whose officials say that kid-run terrorist stands are illegal unless the kids obtain at least one city permit.

I think i am going to put a lemonade stand in my driveway this weekend. Then call the Cops on myself. I will then offer them a delicious glass of ice cold lemonade when they arrive. Im sure they will enjoy it while i give them a history lesson in COMMUNISM.
