A congressman from Ohio had cops grab the cameras of constituents during a town hall meeting. Steve Chabot, a Republican, had cell phones and cameras confiscated in order to “prevent an embarrassing Youtube video from making the rounds,” according to Carlos Miller, who runs a blog documenting efforts by the state to stifle the First Amendment rights of photographers.

Lady shouldn't have caved to the pressure and held on to her camera instead of volunteering it up. And shame on the people sitting next to her who didn't say a word in her defense.

As me and I had my wife watched this I kept saying 'don't give it up' I would want to get arrested... by a security guard instead of giving up my right. It is also a right to open and or conceal carry to town hall meetings unless posted or asked by the owner or top manager (something to that effect).
Ahh looking again I notice the 'pig' reaching back to his pistol to intimidate innocent citizen... nice.

I would of stood up and said I didn't leave my first amendment right at the door. You are in violation of the constitution and should start recall proceedings as you just violated your oath of office.
Point to officer--> You have no duty to obey an unlawful order. If you follow through I will see to it that you lose your job. As you too are in violation of your oath.

I can see where you are coming from, if you are employed privately - but this is a public servant we are talking about. The public should be threatening them with their jobs when necessary.

I am well aware of what that acronym means, but you'll notice that a lot of people in there STFU and it didn't hinder him one bit. Both PUBLIC officials violated the law.
You go after the INDIVIDUAL, don't get greedy by suing a department. You're just hurting the taxpayers at that point and it's where most people go wrong because all they see are dollar signs.
Since he violated the law, he is outside of it's protection if you go directly after him.

You are right. I had to watch the video a second time after reading your post..
Initially, I thought, a lot of cops tend to touch their gun briefly just to ensure it's there, a protective gesture.
You are right though, he did that in an intimidating manner. That is robbery. The elements of robbery, are to take through "force" or "fear".
Technically, that was robbery through force or fear. Why was this lady singled out? There were camera's everywhere there. This makes no sense why that lady was robbed of her possession.

STFU was not directed at you Ares... a hypothetical person who threatens someone else job over a power trip... :)

I stand corrected. Talked about fVcked up.
I almost wonder at that point could you still go after the officials? Because in COMMON law any law that is counter to the Constitution is Null and Void.
