The ShadowHawk is a 50lb mini drone chopper that can be fitted with an XREP taser with the ability to fire four barbed electrodes that can be shot to a distance of 100 feet, delivering “neuromuscular incapacitation” to the victim. The drone can travel at a top speed of 70MPH and can operate for 3.5 hours over land and sea.
A video clip of the drone shows off its impressive maneuverability as it tails a suspect attempting to evade capture with sophisticated object tracking technology. Another video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nFVT-CPwPYg&NR=1) shows the drone conducting surveillance of two individuals involved in a firearm transaction.
The drone also has the capacity to carry 37mm or 40mm grenade launchers and or a multiple shot 12 gauge shotgun.
ShadowHawk will not only be used to target Americans, owners Vanguard Defense have just signed a contract to use the drone against pirates in east A

Technology that has been used to track and kill insurgents in Afghanistan and Iraq for years has now been approved by Homeland Security for use in the United States.
“There’s a good chance ShadowHawk’s spine tingling buzz could be heard approaching a city near you,” reportsSingularity Hub (http://singularityhub.com/2011/08/21/tased-from-above-new-robot-copter-to-begin-patrolling-our-skies-video/).
“As a sign of new law enforcement tactics to come, the Sheriff’s Office of Montgomery County, Texas was recently awarded a grant by the Department of Homeland Security (http://vanguarddefense.com/updating-by-administrator/) for a squadron of ShadowHawks. Montgomery County’s Chief Deputy Randy McDaniel is psyched. “We are very excited about the funding and looking forward to placing the equipment into the field. Both my narcotics and SWAT units have been looking at numerous ways to deploy it and I absolutely believe it will become a critical component on all SWAT callouts and narcotics raids and emergency management operations.”

Unlike Afghanistan we have Radio Shacks on practically every corner. That piece of shit won't stay up very long once someone reverse engineers it and figures out how to take control.

And out of the smoke locusts came down on the earth and were given power like that of scorpions of the earth. 4 They were told not to harm the grass of the earth or any plant or tree, but only those people who did not have the seal of God on their foreheads. 5 They were not allowed to kill them but only to torture them for five months. And the agony they suffered was like that of the sting of a scorpion when it strikes. 6 During those days people will seek death but will not find it; they will long to die, but death will elude them. 7 The locusts looked like horses prepared for battle. On their heads they wore something like crowns of gold, and their faces resembled human faces. 8 Their hair was like women’s hair, and their teeth were like lions’ teeth. 9 They had breastplates like breastplates of iron, and the sound of their wings was like the thundering of many horses and chariots rushing into battle. 10 They had tails with stingers, like scorpions, and in their tails they had power to torment people for five months. Little do these mental midgets realize that this is precisely the sort of thing which alienates them from their neighbors, which can lead to a nasty backlash.

Hmmm... Looks like a new slant on self defence for the home and body could come from this. Light weight miniature heat seeking surface to air missiles. Create your own missile defense sheild! 8-) Seriosly this is F'n CRAZY! They are preparing for what they know will happen. And we the people do not have a grand place in TPTB's minds.

A frequency sweep generater connected to a linear amp and aimed with a helical antenna will incapacitate the drone.
Just need to find the frequency first and overpower the receiver with the linear amp. The helical antenna points the concentrated frequency at a very long distance.
Helical antenna's have been tested at a 1 Mile distance with the output of a simple D-Link WIFI that normally doesnt go but about 300 ft.

How big would a tool of this sort be? I ask because if we were in this situation, I imagine there would be some sort of technology available to the bad guys to spot such a device.
This is why I mentioned bolas way back in August :)

A frequency generater is the biggest of all, about the size of an oscilliscope. The linear amp can be any car amplifier with a good amount of power. I beleive these remote control frequencies are well within the amplifier ranges to reproduce. Last I checked any way.
The antenna is about 3" in diameter and about 1 1/2 feet long weighing about 4 lbs.
You can make the antenna real easy.

If you knew the frequency the drone is using you can hook up any remote control unit directly to amplifier and then to the helix and over power the other signal and control it using your signal.

Sounds like a method that might just work.

OT. The one thing I've noticed a lot in the media these days is the use of the word "Narrative". This is a key word. Some groups of people don't feel that FACTS have any relevancy to anything. What matters is the narrative. The narrative drives the belief system and beliefs are what matters, not FACTS. I raised it because the linked article mentions it.

listening to some guys talking about RC helicopters today. One of them was saying how they use laptops to control their RC's. Some of them you can pre program your flight paths and the PC directs the RC unit to follow the flight path. One of them mentioned the name of a software to do this but I can't recall the name and cannot find anything on the net.
I did find this though.

All about having live video feeds from your RC aircraft, how to track the aircraft with directional antennas to get the best video signal and some other stuff.
Interesting.

Try L-Band. roughly 1 GHz to 2 GHz.

THey already get hacked over seas all the time. Drones go down on a regular basis and thats through secure satalites. These things are using short wave radio, which is even easier.
100ft firing range on the taser isnt that far. That is WELL inside skeet distance. :)
