Not really my "favorite" but this band is on heavy rotation in my car and at work.

Check them out, they are called "Middle Class Rut". They are sort of a new rock mixed with Janes Addiction type punk. They seem very anti-establishment, based on the lyrics of their songs like "USA", "One Debt away", "Alive or Dead" and others.

Here are some lyrics to check out:

Lyrics to Usa :

Pack up your guns; you're going to need them
Because outside your house, there's a war
Yea and if you don't look like you don't even breath then
There ain't nothing sacred here anymore

I'm from the USA
USA
USA
I'm from the USA, yea!

Lock up your shit so no one can steal it
Because the enemy lives outside your door
At least that's what you're made to believe in
Without fear, you ain't got no control

I'm from the USA
USA
USA
I'm from the USA, yea!

You treat 'em like you don't look down
You run out, you just breed more
So send out all you can,
You lose them, you just send more

You treat 'em like you don't look down
You treat 'em like that

Lock up your door!!
Load up your guns!!
Don't you know where I come from?!

and this one is cool to, but I am only going to post some clips that stand out, so google the full lyrics if you're interested.

Lyrics to Alive Or Dead :

I'm at the end of my rope
I've got no where left to run

They're coming for you
And they'll knock on your door
They've got you surrounded
They'll make you conform
They'll steal all your thoughts
And pass them off as their own

Drowning through this empty time
Devil used his hands
We're living in an empty time
Devil used incense

So when they come for you
Don't tell them you met me
Don't tell them anything

Anyways, I just thought I would share. These guys are definitely rockin, and I'm sure some of you might appreciate them. Maybe not though.

EDIT to add that it's nice to find a band like this after hearing just the opposite on the radio for so long.
Most of the tunes I hear on the radio plant seeds of comliance and powerlessness, or go the diametrical opposite and preach violent revolution and dissent.

These guys basically just say "Screw you and your system, and I don't consider myself a part of it".

So far. I haven't dissected all the lyrics yet, so I might find some NWO programming in there, but so far so good.

They are just 2 angry-ish dudes from Sacramento. Caught their show when they opened for Them Crooked Vultures last year here. Fun show.

Thanks. I'll check them out.

I was thinking yesterday that it seems like if you listen to music on the radio, you'd never know the economy was in shambles. Art imitates life [and vice-versa]; but I don't hear much music out there reflecting the hard times. Esp nothing like them. I listen to rock and I hear the crap the kids play at work -- and nothing. Maybe country does, but everything else seems a bit too 'up-beat'.

You don't hear too many anti-war songs like you did from the 60's either...

I'll listen to it,

This is more mainstream, I find it interesting they can not only sing about this,
but do some very good heavy metal, and have great quotes, from JFK,
Founding Fathers.
