OK, how do you find out about these thing ? In this case, BreakingNews.com.

Just wondering if you would share your secrets. It sounds like you're in Mn, and you got the info about an AF base in AZ being locked down.

When I drink coffee in the morning, the first 3 websites I look at are
http://www.drudgereport.com/
http://news.yahoo.com/
http://www.antiwar.com/

I don't think any of them is particularly special, but it helps me get "the basics" before going on to the details. And Yahoo has Doonesbury.

I hate to admit it but I find Karl Denninger to be an occasional source of some really insightful information, e.g. proving that the US gov. is buying their own bonds, when they claim to be selling them to the bond dealer banks. Then he will go and post another post where he rants about something DUMB.

Zero Hedge is also a great source of business and world affairs info.

But I'm curious about your all 'secret' sources of news.

Arizona Air Force base, schools placed on lockdown (http://news.blogs.cnn.com/2011/09/16/schools-at-arizona-air-force-base-placed-on-lockdown/)

Arizona's Davis-Monthan Air Force Base was placed on lockdown Friday morning after an unconfirmed report of a someone suspicious with a weapon, Tech Sgt. Russ Martin told reporters.

No shots have been fired, and nobody is hurt, said a different base representative, Staff Sgt. Caitlyn Jones.

Two schools on the base in Tucson, including Borman Elementary School, also were locked down. Perimeter and classroom doors were locked, and students are staying where they are, said Karen Bynum, executive assistant to Superintendent John Pedicone.

Base representatives said the report was being investigated, and that the reportedly suspicious person has not been located.
