Especially old ones? I've found these in the past several weeks, what an art form! Other than the Jag, the other two are a Packard (don't know year but from the 20's at a guess) and a 1936 Cadillac chauffeur driven town car.

We've lost the sense of style that used to be built into everything made in America, the pride of craftsmanship. I guess that what happens when money men, accountants and lawyers get control of everything and people who actually do and create are considered to be the lower classes. Also, look at the bank vault door built in America in 1905. When I shoot older stuff, I find so many examples of attention to detail and decoration done not just for functionality but because of the mindset that this is the way things are done because beauty is a part of functionality. In a lot of ways I hate living in a society where that mindset is alien.

This one dates from the early 1920'2 but not American. It is the figurehead from the Spanish J. S. DeElcano, one of the largest sailing ships still in operation. It's used by the Spanish equivalent of the Naval Academy as a training vessel and occasionally puts into port here in Pensacola.

That bank vault door is gorgeous.

But that was back when *money* was stored behind doors like that.

Now, for all the "value" in the banks, this would suffice:

I used to love the hood ornament off the 1980's Dodge Ram trucks. It was the ram head.
