I'm not saying that this isn't a big deal . . . it could be. But, when I was out on the road, I saw several military convoys transporting large machinery. I asked someone in the military what was up (because the looks of it made the hair on the back of my neck stand up), and I was told that it's just an exercise in mobility, leadership, communications, etc. Meaning, there didn't have to be a reason for the transport - that the transport was the reason. I have no idea if that's true, either.
