What the hell are my dragons doing in Nashua, NH
I finally got a shipping notice for a dragon order that I made about 5 weeks ago. It was shipped Priority late last week; I was given a USPS tracking number.
It was sent from Oklahoma to the Florida Panhandle. I'm a veteran of MANY online buys and have tracked the shipments from pretty much every part of the US. Haven't yet seen anything like this routing. Shipment was predicted yesterday but it seems to be sitting up in New Hampshire.
The have 5 business days and it hasn't been that yet but I've got a bad feeling about this one (and another similar order in the same boat). If it were some common coin, there would be no problem.
BTW: This isn't about the dealer, they shipped it, this is USPS. Anyone seen anything like this routing?

Similar zip codes? Transposition perhaps.... dunno. Awful far to go in 1 day.

This is normal for the Gooberment run service... parcels are run along major routes to their final destinations, even if it means going across the US first. (supposedly this saves money)

I've never see routing like that but I HAVE seen USPS tracking not work numerous times.

Call the shipper and verify what address they shipped it to.

No need to worry...
Like all recently shipped bullion, it's just taking a brief "detour" to the new JP Morgan counterfeiting/plating facility in NH. You'll happily receive your "dragons" soon... ;D

Apparently JP's work has been completed, got this tracking report this AM. Looks like I'll get to do some dragon picts soon. This batch is all 2's, 5's & 10's.
Whew!! I could just see my dragons getting lost and me ending up with one stinking overpriced 1 oz coin. That would have pissed me off!

Fear not. You will receive several stinking, overpriced coins.
I'm waiting on my stinking, overpriced 2011 Britannia, personally. Oh, the woes of keeping a complete collection.
I'm interested in the 2012 Dragons but I'm not $100+/ozt interested. It's the same reason I still don't have a 2000 Dragon although I have many other Lunars.

The other sizes from the 1 oz weren't too bad pricewise, I bought all of them for right at $50/oz, which was spot + about $8 at the time I ordered. I've got a fair number of 2000 Dragons but bought them before they got popular; don't have more than $18 in any of them (except the 10 oz which cost me $165).
PS: I've had my stinking overpriced 2011 Britannia for quite some time.

Every time I bothered to look for them they were not in stock so I assumed they had not been released. Only when I started shopping for Dragons and Kooks did I realize the Brits were out. How does one know when the things are actually released?

Well, it's not exactly an item on hourly news broadcast on AM radio shoehorned in between Omnipotent One Dear Leader speeches. I've got about 6-7 yearly series that I keep up with, 3 of them from the Perth mint, which issues about this time every year. The others (including Britania) come out around the beginning of the new year. When a series is due out, I'll just keep an eye open on the dealers sites. Usually you have plenty of time to get one (or three or whatever), the Dragon fiasco was an anomaly.
