Unless it's carrying a mininuke the most it might do is break a window. Is this an Onion story?

Supposedly this RC scale model flying brick was going to carry a payload of C-4* along with a RC scale model of a F-86 (which isn't a flying brick) into the Pentagram while simultaneously a ground assault was to be made upon the Pentagram with an assault team of like five guys with automatic weapons. I gotta say this plan was flawless and completely within the realm of possibilities. /sarc
Did you happen to catch the very clear, glaring anomaly in that photo and accompanying story?
*C-4, you know, that plastic explosive stuff which you can readily find at your local drugstore, hardware store, or feed store.

Are you referring to how there was a green electrical transformer on the front lawn in the first pic, but not one in the third pic?

No, the photo is dated Feb '03. Pretty sloppy setup, a big WTF?

Yeah, that, and if it actually belonged to this kid he would have been 18 y.o. at that time.
They must have a pretty dim view of the public if they expect everyone to believe this tale. In order to fly that flying brick you certainly can't let it out of your sight, which means you'd be standing out exposed with a big fat RC controller in both hands.

They say it is an undated photo. Clearly it is not an undated photo. I can't seem to access the other pics in the slide show. None of the controls on that page seem to be working for me.
Got them on another PC. Photo 4 looks like it was taken from inside a building. There is no building that close to the pentagon from that angle. Perhaps it was a bus? The pentagon has a facade on two of it's sides only. So you can see those two sections with the columns. One on the left and one on the right. You can see them on a google map.
http://maps.google.com/maps?q=pentagon&hl=en&ll=38.871573,-77.055895&spn=0.006841,0.013937&sll=38.863012,-77.059236&sspn=0.027368,0.055747&vpsrc=6&t=k&z=17
So the position of that picture appears to have been taken from is to the top right of the penatagon in the above google map. There is a building there but I thinik it is too far away. There is a a road up next to the Pentagon. Then there is a row of trees and then a car park. The photo was taken from that car park on the other side of the row of trees.
I can't reconcile the markings of the car park with that section of the pentagon grounds so not sure. Point is the photo seems to have been taken from inside a building or maybe it's a bus.

So I guess if you have model airplanes and have ever taken a snap picture of the pentagon as you drove by then you are fucked.

It looks as though it was taken from inside of something other than a vehicle when driving by.

ie from inside whatever that bldg is just to the NE of the Pentagon. Is that Pentagon grounds? Can anyone just go there? Looks like it's behind a big fence.

This appears to be an accidental double exposure taken using an old 6x4.5 red window medium format film camera. The format is 4/3rd. It was taken by an amateur photog. The double exposure "ghost" image looks to be shot from the inside of a building aiming out through commercial windows. One image may have been taken on a different day, in a different location.
I have no idea what any of that might prove one way or the other, though. A stupid shitty photo of the Pentagram from an empty parking lot. Big whoop!
In fact, none of those images "prove" anything at all, expect perhaps that someone liked to build cool RC model jet airplanes.

Santa, It looks to me as though it's a reflection from having taken the pic through a window. If you look at other pics of the Pentagon, there's only one area that pic could have been taken from and there is a small building there.
That's why I thought the pic may have been taken from inside that building.
...and if those planes were given/loaned to him, it must have been back before 2003 for him to have been able to take that other pic. Seems like a long time for a sting op.

If it's a film based photograph I think that begs the question of when it was actually taken and by whom? If the FBI are fitting the guy up with explosives then they are probably providing the surveilance photo as well.
I don't think there is a building close enough to where that photo looks like it was taken from. Google doesn't show a carpark with those same markings.
Is it possible to date the pentagon photo based on the work that is being done on it?

i just figured it had been re-striped since the pic had been taken. Either way, it was still taken from near that other building that is on Pentagon grounds. The only thing beyond that is a highway and you can tell from the position of the trees and light poles that it wasn't taken from the highway.

I wonder if he defends himself like the crotch bomber currently is doing.
On a side note, the FBI gave him every opportunity to not go through with his scheme. ::)

If it's a reflection, where's the photographers reflection? If the camera is close enough to the glass window to eliminate his reflection, it would also eliminate the other reflections.
Joe King

Only if it was taken straight-on. If taken at an angle, the photographers reflection may not be in the cameras field of view.
