War. Let's consider it for a brief moment. (or not, if you have something better to do! :) )

Is war an instinctual remnant of some natural animal behavior we learned in the wild?
Show me where. I do NOT see animals waging war on each other.

Is it a dim reflection of natural forces that man has observed, learned from, and copied?
Show me where... among ALL of the natural phenomenon, no matter how violent, I do NOT see anything resembling human warfare, instead I see a perfect harmony of natural forces opposing each other at some times, and reinforcing each other at other times.

My only conclusion, after a lifetime of observing war and it's results is this:

War is a HIGHLY ORGANIZED social structure, carefully thought out, cleverly designed, and metculously implemented by the mind of man, the ultimate AIM of which is nothing other than THEFT. COERCION AND THEFT. TAKING WHAT HAS NOT BEEN CREATED OR EARNED by those who CREATE NOTHING but misery and hollow burned out shells of DESPAIR AND SLAVERY where freedom, life, and progress once flourished! :(

Any alternate viewpoints on this? Because I am currently thinking that of ALL of the problems and challenges facing mankind, the only really IMPORTANT and CRITICAL problems are those of a political nature, and you just CANNOT FIND a more important problem in the political realm than the problem of war.

Flame me... or praise me. I care not which.

Ants!

Territory.
They DO NOT go out of their way to commit conquest and empire on other ants, once the are separated by adequate distance, they leave each other alone and EARN their livelihood through normal antlike labors.

Its hard to turn off the leader's drives (especially if the spot is won by driven beings) as long as they can get more power.

Stick with "ANTS!". :)

BBC: Ant mega-colony takes over world (http://news.bbc.co.uk/earth/hi/earth_news/newsid_8127000/8127519.stm)
Linepithema humile (http://myrmecos.wordpress.com/2008/04/13/how-to-identify-the-argentine-ant-linepithema-humile/)

If you live in North Dakota, for example, the chance that the ant you just collected is an Argentine Ant is pretty slim. On the other hand, if you live in coastal California... you’ll be hard-pressed to find any urban ant that’s not an Argentine ant.

Perhaps the critical aspect in the minds of man is the most complex language allowing the most complex (and extreme) theft.

The purpose of war is human suffering and more importantly fear. You're right that it is theft and coercion, but not primarily on the material level, rather it is harvesting spiritual and emotional energy. This type of energy in refined form is only available from humans. Other forms of life also produce it, but not as pure.

Under the Law of Nations an invading army can only seize public property and public papers. Privately held property was respected.

The Law of Nations is still in effect but applies only to sovereign countries and not federations. It most specifically says it does not apply to the Jewish tribe because of their rank and "special dispensation". This comment in Vattel leads into the concept that ALL current wars and MOST of the wars of the twentieth century were inspired by the currency promoted by the major banks of the world. Not saying I am 100% correct on this but I am willing to suggest there is a connection.

Ant colonies.

Chimpanzee tribes do this for territory/resources (like fruit trees.) They sometimes cannibalize the enemy chimpanzees they kill.

I was going to post that tid bit.

I believe there is some documentary footage of chimps on the war path.
They could be just be trained monkeys to help us along within our psyop too.

Keehah.....ya gotta watch that one. lol

As far as animals and war, animals don't need to fight war as people do because their "war" typically only has one battle and if it's not to the death, the loser will normally always retreat when encountering that animal or group of animals in the future. Thereby eliminating future battles.

People, on the other hand will retreat only to re-group and mount their own attack later.

So in that regard, only people fight war like we do.

That could be the "natural forces opposing each other at some times" with practical reasons for the ritual at the end.

I think the territory asked about in the OP comes after that, like in the following weeks when the dominant males of the winning chimp tribe kill the children of chimps they did not sire.

Acceptable war could be seen as the first example, unacceptable war as the second.

And some species of ants!

There is truth in what keehah says!I don't think they actually plan their battles ahead of time, but rather just fight when encountering other ants when out gathering food.

War is just a tool, a means to an end, as is fiat money, entertainment, modern politics etc.. the ends are power and control.

War.

If you haven't read the Iliad, you should read the Iliad.

People that have not read the Iliad, or good commentary on it that varies,
have no idea what it is. I have read it more than 3 times, if you count all the
times I have referenced it and reread chapters, more.

Then the journey begins. Greater history, philosophy, economics, politics.

What were the the Peloponnesian Wars about, same thing as Iliad.

What does this have to do with politics, corruption of society, brainwashing
of the masses, building empire, power.

All of this has been discussed and written about in ancient times,
and it is all relevant today, historians say so.

" The Iliad is the cornerstone of the Western World. " Historians
First Western book ever written.

" All modern/western philosophers are footnotes to Plato. " Modern Historians.

Go ahead and flame me. ;D

" All Wars are about money. " Plato

Edit add, a hint to questions above,
Gallipoli, a battle the West lost to our enemies, the Rothchilds.
History may rhyme, but it definitely repeats. The modern day
Spartans, checking empire, were betrayed, and this has equated
to less freedom for all of us.
