Too bad so few alive at the time bothered paying attention to stuff like that. Might not be where we are today, had they.

The Wizard of Oz was a stealthy movie for the time. Most people of the time were more concerned with surviving than analyzing the legal consequences. They hired the finest minds and trusted. In retrospect not a good plan.

If you can get your hands on it an early '60s movie called "The Trial" is fascinating. It is laid out in Citizen Kane style in black and white.

...but I suppose the people back then were under the impression that their gov was on "autopilot" and therefore wasn't susceptable to stuff like that.

From the video:

"When anybody preaches disunity, tries to pit one of us against the other, through class warfare, race hatred, or religious intolerance, you know that person seeks to rob us of our freedom and destroy our very lives. And, we know what to do about it."

"Working together to produce an ever-greater abundance of material and spiritual values for all - THAT is the secret of American prosperity."

Snake Oil Salesman says: "No violence, please."

This stuck out to me as well.

'Free enterprise' and 'capitalism' are 2 other things mentioned that I think could use some discrimination.
