Anybody see the commercials for the new aerated Hershey Kisses?

They’re the same price as regular Kisses, but you get about 3 ounces less in the bag.

Maybe there is a message here to the US Mint. How about selling the air in gold and silver coins? Would you get 3 oz less in each bag?

Pretty slick way to cut costs and increase profits out of thin air. And doing it right in the face of the customers.

That's what you get for buying bags of HFCS.

Chocolate inflation! They probably convince people that it is a good thing too as a bag contains 30% less calories...

If they are producing a new product, which this essentially is, it's possible they might have had some extra costs involved. {R&D, cost of new equipment/new production line} Maybe, but in the end they will use much less material and chocolate is not cheap and not getting any cheaper. So launch an ad campaign and sell it to the masses, but keep the price the same as the old kisses?

They will make out like bandits.

Edit: They probably can use the old production lines, just add the chocolate aerator into the line.

Gots to pay for that new aerator somehow. lol ETA: Remember, all businesses pass along increased costs whenever possible.
...but yea, those costs will eventually be recovered and then it's pure profit. Then, if these catch on and for the very reasons you mentioned, I'm sure they would like these to become the prefered "Kisses".

They will probably phase out the old ones claiming better sales.

They will probably phase out the old ones claiming better sales. If sales actually do not decrease, and they want to pass along higher costs and/or make a bit more profit, all they'll do is start making them slightly smaller. IMO, they'd not quit making one of their most well known flagship-type products unless sales actually did tank.

Perhaps like Coke. With great fan fare they could announce the return of 'Classic Kisses' of solid chocolate, whilst being able to hide the fact it is now made with cheaper (and toxic) ingredients.

Meanwhile in my area they are starting to sell the large 750ml dairy products in 650ml containers. They look stupid actually with the large 1L lid size and not much bigger in volume than the existing medium 500ml size.

400ml size or make it bigger and call it 200ml pure chocolate clad air kisses.

Hershey started production in Mexico. "Mexican chocolate" seems kind of gross and perverted.
