Finland vows care for narcolepsy kids who had swine flu shot

HELSINKI — The Finnish government and major insurance companies announced Wednesday they will pay for lifetime medical care for children diagnosed with narcolepsy after receiving the swine flu vaccine.

"The compensation will provide much-needed financial assistance for the families, although it cannot take away the emotional distress caused by this condition," Social Services and Health Minister Paula Risikko said in a statement.

Finnish and international researchers recently found a conclusive link between the Pandemrix swine flu vaccine and new cases of narcolepsy, a chronic nervous system disorder which causes people to often uncontrollably fall asleep.

The Finnish Pharmaceutical Insurance Pool (LVP), which represents insurance companies, said Wednesday it would honour all insurance claims in this category.

LVP said it would review each claim individually to calculate the scope of the payout.

The Finnish government meanwhile agreed to cover any medical costs exceeding the insurance claims.

In Finland, 79 children between the ages of four and 19 developed narcolepsy after receiving the Pandemrix vaccine in 2009 and 2010.

Of these cases, an unusually high number, 76, also suffered from bouts of cataplexy, suffering hallucinations or paralysing physical collapses, according to Finnish research.

There was an article on this particular piece of news on the website of the largest newspaper in our country, Helsingin Sanomat. Written in 7.10, it had just 3 sentences, and it was on the small news section. And had just one uninteresting comment written on it.

Well, it goes to tell that deep inside us, we're ashamed of ourselves. We're ashamed to admit that we've allowed ourselves to led like sheep - lied to as we were little children. It's hard for so many of us to even begin to think a prestigious-sounding and respected medical organization such as our Department of Health could actually dare to sacrifice all that its name stands for, just in an attempt to gain more money and profits! But that did happen, as do these kind of news prove, they made a boatload of cheap money on our expense.

I remember very well all those lines, crowds of people waiting for hours and hours to get themselves poisoned. And anyone who didn't succumb to that madness we called them heretics and idiots! Still we dare not speak aloud the truth because the power of money and corruption speaks for us, and we stay silent no matter how many times history repeats itself.

Well one way to reverse some of the damage done by these vaccines is chelation. Chelation is the process of breaking down and removing heavy metals from your system. You also need to do a liver cleanse while doing it so the flushed out heavy metals don't clog up your liver and kill you.

I wonder in the economic downturn, if state, or local budgets will break free from this...(by "breakfree", I mean refuse all future vaccines)

"lifetime care" for one kid, with inflation. what he cannot drive (ever) because of narcolepsy, so lifetime transportation, he will need special education services,

thats pretty much a minimum

transportation (a bus/van or?) perhaps $15,000 a year to start (like 2-3 trips a day, school, groceries, etc)

special education (an add on to regular education costs, say 20-30% above regular spending)

and multiply this over the life of the child,

and then they will likely need some financial aid, or special job placement later in life (perhaps $30,000 a year in subsidies)

the numbers are staggering.....

the very fact that as you accurately point out, "the numbers are staggering..." in and of itself is death sentence to these children and others. No morally or financially bankrupt already government is going to stay on the hook in perpetuity to those whose lives are such affected.

Sad but macro true -- especially when genocide was the intended outcome in the first place.

Let's not forget the guilty blackops who unleased the swine flu originally that weekend in an unheard of town in Mexico just to see how quickly it would spread and where the corridors to the rest of the planet would surface, how fast it would spread. I remember that weekend well. It was disgusting display of hubris and arrogance. However, promises to pay ad infinitum are just putrid icing on this swine cake.

No one is paying the survivors of the decimated latino families who didn't ask for this intrusion into their lives at the point where swine flu was unleashed.
