Silver Rocket Bitches!

A confrontation may be looming for “Occupy Wall Street” protesters at Zuccotti Park as a result of the cleaning that’s set to take place at 7 a.m. tomorrow. Brookfield Office Management employees have been passing out notices to protesters Thursday, saying that tarps, sleeping bags and tents are all prohibited in the park, as is lying on the ground and on benches when it becomes an interference for others.
That’s likely to stir up trouble with folks who have been camped out in the park for the past 26 days.

“They might as well as just said ‘You’re done,’” one protester told CBS 2′s Ann Mercogliano.
“This is an eviction notice,” said another.
The notification follows Wednesday night’s announcement by the mayor’s office that protesters need to leave the park on Friday so it can get cleaned up (http://newyork.cbslocal.com/2011/10/12/occupy-wall-street-protesters-plan-to-demonstrate-outside-jpmorganchase-hq/).
“The last three weeks have created unsanitary conditions and considerable wear and tear on the park,” said the mayor’s office.
“The cleaning will be done in stages and protesters will be able to return to the areas that have been cleaned, provided they abide by the rules Brookfield has established for the park,” said the statement from Deputy Mayor for Operations Cas Holloway.
The cleaning operation is set to take place in three stages, each lasting about four hours. Protesters will have to move from portions of the park that are being cleaned. Although the protesters can return to the cleaned areas of the park, they have to abide by the rules. And those strict rules that are being distributed today seem to suggest a showdown with the NYPD may be imminent.
Mercogliano reported that some of the protesters she spoke with have said they will leave. Others have said they won’t.
