The Russians are still getting the hang of this aircraft carrier thing. Good thing Sukhois are good at unusual attitude flying, this would have crashed almost any other aircraft on earth.
Pilot is lucky not to have caught his hook while at that attitude, you can tell he's close.

Sometimes the Su-33 makes it

and sometimes it doesn't, like when the arresting cable lets go

However the world's quickest and ultimate super agile heavy fighter is capable of incredible maneuvers all others wish they could accomplish

Imagine being in the crowd and the thrill of having the nose pointed at you so close on final approach. This is only one example of why pilots who've flown the Su-27 assert it's the most intelligent aircraft they've ever flown.

The Sukhois is outdated as in all aircraft................nothing more than a plane with a toto.
Sukhois are nothing when it comes to stealth rockets fired from a shoulder of a grunt on the ground.
Name of the game is electronic stealth and I seriously doubt ussr has anything compared.
It took them how many years to come up with the technology (stolen) to come up with anything comparable?
To late in the game to want a plane to dance foolishly in the sky. And they dont have enough of them to make a difference anyway.
