Another ebay score - gold coin cufflinks!

$380 for a pair of 1/10 oz GAE cufflinks in a 14k housing. I have a similar pair of 14k coin cufflinks that weigh 6.7 grams for just the housing. Assuming a conservative weight of 6 grams for the cufflinks without the coins, that's .11 troy ounces of pure gold. Add that to the coins, you have .31 oz gold, which equals $511 at the current gold value of $1650. $100 profit, not bad!

I got them in over the weekend, and they're heavier than I estimated! Both cufflinks weigh 16.2 grams combined. Minus the 6.8 grams for the coins (1/10 gold eagles actually weigh 3.39 grams because they're not pure 24k gold) equals 9.4 grams for the 14k cufflinks, which is equivalent to 5.48 grams of 999 gold. 0.2 troy ounces for the coins plus 0.176 troy oz for the cufflinks = .376 oz @ approx $1650/oz gold price = $620 scrap value alone, and I paid $380! Score!!!
