I've heard they repel no-see-ums, bacteria, fungi and don't collect odor.

I ordered a couple of pillow cases..

can't wait to try them out... ;D

after so many washes the silver wears out ( shirt, socks etc)

the best thing to do is make your own collodial silver and apply it as liberal as you like

Pillow cases make sense. I had previously seen silver-thread boxer-shorts for sale. Did not buy.

@hoarder - for colloidal silver, I like the Twisted Avatar method, i.e. put some CS in a small spritz bottle and spray onto the teeth and gums before bed.

About colloidal silver -

Anyone know where I can get some 14 gauge, 0.9999 silver wire with at least a reasonable relation to spot? Like maybe a 20 - 25% premium?

Silver sheets ximmy? That's so bourgeois. I sleep strictly on baby seal fur lined in nano-platinum. I'll tell you though the real luxury comes from the baby condor pillows. Mmmmm that's soft.

DMac, if you care about nature, I'd recommend not going with the full baby seal bed set. As comfortable as it may be. Get a baby seal woobie instead. I read somewhere that they need to club 4 baby seals for the full set, and only 2 for the woobie. Here's your chance to save a couple of baby seals!

I sleep only in Iranian Caviar. It is not very comfortable, but ridiculously expensive, and I only buy brands where they kill the sturgeon as they take the Caviar...

Of course my friend...

Processing search...

These guys only have 10 and 12 gauge, but they were reliable when I bought from them two years ago...

(This article was taken from Peter Lindeman's essay, Colloidal Silver: A Closer Look. )

The quality of your finished product depends entirely on the purity of the water you start with and the purity of the silver you start with. Most of the current literature suggests that only 99.9999% pure silver can be used. Most home brew systems use 99.9% pure silver. So, what is the difference? To find out, I contacted Academy Metals, a company in Albuquerque, New Mexico, that produces commercial silver. The total allowable impurities in 99.9% (.999 fine) silver is 1000 ppm or 1 part in 1000. These impurities and their maximums are 1) Copper, 800 ppm, 2) Lead, 250 ppm, 3) Iron, 200 ppm, and 4) Bismuth, 10 ppm. This product is readily available in wire form and costs about $3.00 above the market (spot) price of silver. When this product is used to make electro-colloidal silver at a concentration of 5 ppm, the total impurities from the silver drop to 4 ppb (parts per billion) copper, 1.25 ppb lead, 1 ppb iron, .05 ppb bismuth.

With all allowable impurities at these low levels, there is a reasonable argument for not being concerned. Still, sometimes small things make a big difference. 99.99% silver (.9999 fine) has total allowable impurities of 100 ppm of the same metals in the same ratios, and costs (in wire form) between $50-$90 above the spot price of silver. 99.999% silver (.99999 fine) has total allowable impurities of 10 ppm, and in wire form costs about $250 above the spot price. 99.9999% silver, in wire form, costs more than gold and is very difficult to find commercially.

In one sample of 10 ppm colloidal silver we sent out for total analysis (made with 99.9% silver electrodes), the primary impurities found were: 1) Sodium, 470 ppb, 2) Calcium, 260 ppb, 3) Manganese, 70 ppb, 4) Potassium, 50 ppb, and 5) Magnesium, 24 ppb. Since none of these impurities could have come from the silver, it suggests that the purity of the water should be of greater concern to the person making their own colloidal silver, than spending extra money on purer silver.

I think there was a vendor that sold 99.997% purity 14-gauge at very reasonable prices, but that was before the silver rockets took off. I'm sorting through old emails trying to find him for you.

Hey, I just found out I have silver in my boxer/briefs! I've had a couple of pairs of this underwear, for travel, quick drying properties...and agree, best underwear ever. Years later, still in new shape. Wearing a pair right now. :)

;D Sure, laugh if you will. :) I'm tellin' ya though, the ladies have always liked these boxers. Plus, they are so thin and comfortable, the next best thing to going commando.

They're great for travel, you can wash them in a sink and they will be dry the next morning. Of course, they are $25 a pair...but I might have to get another couple here soon.

Duluth trading has 'buck naked' underwear on sale right now. I think there may be silver in this underwear, it has an antimicrobial treatment. Sounds like silver to me. $15 a pair.

I've never used silver clothing/fabric but my deodorant has silver in it rather than aluminum.

Also, the dollar store sells silver band aids. Perfect for keeping away infections and you get silver for a dollar!
