There is a resonating that I sense in my soul for the end of days and this music marches along that road. I have tried to figure out what I am sensing and have a hard time exactly identifying it. There is an eternal echo within a box feeling that I get with some of these. I see desolation and voids of lifelessness in unnatural light of foregone holiday decorations. There are browned leaves blowing in windless streets. Silence where noise once ruled. Thunder on the horizon about to break in a new reality but this moment of dulled glitter and yellowed light precedes what is to come.

I've been feeling UMEK's Behind The Iron Curtain show on XM Radio. I was able to source a few of the shows for download, he spins pretty good stuff I think.

This song is decent, but I really need to get to one of his shows.

The women in the video make it look as I would have a really good time.

Here is a nice CHILL OUT track list.... a little cooler, mellower - for those looking for a softer blend.

This was removed. I have been downloading the clips I like most.

Some of my friends listen to this shit day and night....no shit. Throughout the day, and all weekend long often for for days at a time. It's seriously fucked up.

This music imo is more or less computerized babble, and does strange things to people's heads.

You may be right. I have it kicking around in mine and I am testing it out. I can drink poison and be bitten by deadly snakes without harm..... but I will learn some things from the experience. I like the beat for exercise or working on things.... keeps me moving along.

What strange things have you seen with your friends?

My friend's younger brother is a dj, and does weekend gigs at clubs, so it's like this big techno dj network where all his friends are dj's. Every time I hang out, I'm noticing more, and more club drugs being used, and they party every weekend often staying up from Friday, until Sunday morning/noon.....techno pumping nonstop. I don't know if it's the music that prompts the drugs or vice versa. I've tried the trip a few times so to speak, and it's definitely not for me. After a while 8+ hours, it turns into chaos, and confusion for me. It tends to blow away my central nervous system.

There are 3 deadly toxins added to that cocktail-

drugs
sleep deprivation
bad crowd

I don't do any of those. And I limit my dose to music like I limit my dose to everything.

It's the persistent base drum, or throb so to speak, for me. I find it very unnatural. I started playing drums at 10 yrs of age, so I find it messes with my head. I guess I get bored easily with it.

I find it most tolerable at a very low volume, and I'm pretty much focused on something else entirely. In that regard it can help time to pass when you need it to...i.e @ work.

I know plenty of people who listen to techno and don't take drugs.

Although yes, Bass can change you. It has been scientifically proven to alter your biorhythm under certain circumstances.

that's pretty mellow, you could play it without the neighbor knocking on your door and you being unable to hear it.

that happened to me once when i was playing Rihanna. yes, i confess, i played Rihanna for a few months.

too loud for one of my neighbors apparently. he knocked on my door but - i couldn't hear him.

it was about 5:30 PM and he had just gotten home from a hard day as corporate attorney.

can't say i have much sympathy for him.

dance trance techno, just like for anything else, there the very good and the ugly.

this trend really re-engineers all kinds of tribal sounds... hence its success, there is something in humans that still LOVES it. ;D

Kind of a percussive techno hippy Zanfir act.

Fatboy Miami - craziest party I've ever attended. Absolutely crazy.

To my knowledge, this live performance is not available on youtube or anywhere else, so I had to upload it. About a 300mb file on your desktop or in your downloads folder.

If it seems too intense, remember that Fatboy always plays a little bit of every thing, so be patient. I hope you enjoy!

I thought he was Finnish..?? It would make sense though.

Nordic guy invents meticulously designed bespoke precision instrument, painstakingly handcrafted with wood and metal, Aussie dude invents glorified acoustic sewer with plumbing products and rubber thongs...;D
