View Full Version : Surgeon did not kill me

Hey everyone. Made it home from surgery about 3 hours ago. Laying on couch, taking Vicodin, trying to avoid anything that involves getting up.

Went well I'm told, had to patch me up on both sides. Surgeon was great. Only bad part was that about every nurse around had to do something that involved looking at my naked groin.

Somebody needs to invent a bed that raises you up to standing after surgery. Hurts so bad I fear I'm tearing something up in my newly fixed innards.

Only Gs-us observation is that the flu shot was pushed 5 times.

Posting from my auto correct phone, damn that capitalization is annoying.

Wanted to thank everyone who was pulling for me, sent me PMs, etc. you guys are the best.

Bad part? Nah, that's the good part.
In a couple of days, after all the anesthetics wear off you're gonna know what I mean. It'll feel like the surgeon sewed a pair of old army boots up inside you.

Rest. Try not to move...at all, and good luck.

How long until that goes away? Before I had the surgery I was literally crying trying to walk around the house. Can't be worse than that, I hope...

Probably longer than you're hoping, that's for sure. And as for the old army boots analogy? It'll feel like a couple a soldiers are still wearing them and they're trying to kick their way out of your groin. My advice is to thank your wife in advance and frequently for her patience and understanding.

After about three weeks it'll be far less painful and only feel like some punk ass Italian mafioso dude is carving his girlfriends name on your crotch.

And finally after a year or two, you'll have completely forgotten the pain and will tell some friend with a hernia how easy it was for you.

Oh, and stop laughing. You might pull a stitch. :)

Ok, maybe I'm exaggerating cuz ima woos...
