The news is 2 days old and only 3 people know so far and I'm broadcasting to GSUS.

Total life change in a split second, my head has been spinning and I don't know that it will ever stop.

It might slow down after 18 years or so.

This is the first and most likely the last. I am 33 and she is nearly 36. We have been married just a couple weeks shy of 11 years. She quit taking the population control pills about 11 months ago. We are pretty terrified of how exactly we are going to afford this but I imagine that we are positioned much better than your average couple having a child.

ETA - We intend to do a home birth and to have a notarized, witness-signed, handwritten form serve as certificate of live birth. We have no intention of signing the child up for social insecurity explaining to the child when it can understand that it is an option it may exercise when it is of legal age to make such decisions.

Oh come on SLV^GLD, she has plenty of time to have a sis or brother, I got pregnant 25 days after my 39th b-day, I waited til the last minute, so she has a good 2 years left after this one !!! :)

I love the sentiment! However, I do respect SLV^GLDs thinking on this one. I was born very late in my parents' lives. Having a family that much older can be difficult growing up, in some ways.

Just sayin!

36 is not too old to have kids by any means.

Congrats Slv!! Very exciting news, it's great to hear when responsible folks decide to have children. That does give a lot more hope for the future. :)

Somewhere in the world today
A little girl will go out to play
All dressed up in mama's clothes
At least the way that I suppose it goes
Somewhere in the world tonight
Before she reaches to turn out the light
She'll be prayin' from a tender heart
A simple prayer that's a work of art

And I don't even know her name
But I'm prayin' for her just the same
That the Lord will write His name upon her heart
Cause somewhere in the course of this life
A little boy will need a godly wife
So hold on to Jesus, baby, wherever you are

Somewhere in the world out there
That little girl's learnin' how to care
She's pickin' up her mama's charms
Or maybe, swingin' around in her daddy's arms
Somewhere in the world to be
Though the future's not real clear to me
Theirs could be a tender love
Grounded in eternal love above

And I don't even know her name
But I'm prayin' for her just the same
That the Lord will write His name upon her heart
Cause somewhere in the course of this life
A little boy will need a godly wife
So hold on to Jesus, baby, wherever you are
So hold on to Jesus, baby, wherever you are
