I wonder if they'll give Ron Paul 30 seconds? It's about National security and it should be interesting. Will all of them praise the TSA and Homeland Security? All but RP of course!

I don't either. It should be interesting to see how they do this with so many candidates and only an hour long debate. It will probably be Romney and Cain.

i'm watching with the sound off for a minute. much better that way.

i think they'd all benefit from perma-laryngitis, except Ron Paul. then he'd have more time to speak and it would be harder for them to pretend he's not there.

Ron Paul got two questions. He said that torture is illegal when they were discussing waterboarding. But there's only 5 minutes to go and he got the least amount of time again.

I convinced both of my parents tonight, both avid Glenn Beck listeners, that the current state of Israel is NOT in the favor of God and they are the enemies of Christians everywhere. I think my mother opened her eyes and may now be on the path to realizing that the current occupiers of Israel are the synagogue of satan as Jesus told us many years ago.

Was it just me or did the crown cheer RP and just applaud the other pawns? Heard some boos too. The audience is RP supporters and sheeple. I think RP has a LOT more support than I imagined.

Hope they all go and vote in the primary election.

I was listening to the major radio news spots earlier.

Apparently, rp's thoughts on not meddling in other countries affairs is controversial.

However, Romney's use of insurgents and ultimately military in dealing with Iran is A-OK.

Newt, Michele, and Cain all want to bring back water-boarding.

This video is the length of the total time given to Ron Paul in an hour long debate where the rest of the candidates got 58 minutes and 31 seconds of war propaganda.

The entire debate lasted 90 mins, the last 30 were only online. So, lets just base it on on an hour..each candidate should have gotten to speak for 7.5 mins. I'd like to see a breakdown of the minutes each one got to speak but I couldn't find one.

CBS posted this on their website:

"The polls suggest Paul's brand of hardcore libertarianism has a limited appeal with GOP primary voters, and he remains a serious longshot for the Republican presidential nomination. But his goal is also to get his ideas into the public sphere, and on that front this debate was an unqualified success for him."

I'm beginning to think this is a PTB strategy, to have no clearly strong republican candidate. This will guarantee that Obama will be able to win. Usually by this point, it's been narrowed down to 2 or 3 at the most. The polls show how little interest there is in any of them (except RP) but they won't let him gain ground. So it will probably be Romney and you can see how little support there is for him. There's media support, but certainly not public support.

They would have strong candidates if the really good ones would run. But the way any potential candidates life is turned into a 3 ring circus they will not run. Plus dealing with all the greedy Washington slime balls and hanger ons.

Plus the real power in Washington is not so much as the elected into the office. There is a permanent bureaucracy that see the elected come and go, but they stay, and in many ways they hold true power.

The ones that run for office, are mostly seduced by the power and recognition plus the money that can be made under the table.

Very few leave their elected office if they have held it for several terms, not well off by several million in the bank, where does it come from? Not their by there paychecks.

Politicians are the ultimate attention whores, in general rate less than lawyers on the ethics scale.

One thing that hasn't been discussed is Gary Johnson. They stopped inviting him to debates altogether. Why? Because he wasn't showing up in the polls. Why wasn't he showing in the polls? Because he wasn't included in them! He's a good candidate who was pushed out too.

But Romney says 3 words to Paul's one to say the same thing, so that charts not really reflective of anything.
