I went out early on Black Friday. I was near the front of the line at a local outlet. I got in and picked up a few rifles and some ammo.

Smith&Wesson M&P 15 carbines

The S&W carbines were selling at about $500 so I grabbed a half dozen. I am more an AK guy but having a few AR clones isn't bad either.

I have a young nephew so I got him a Mossberg .22 for about $280 for him.

Mossberg 715T (.22 cal.)

There was a rack of Mosin Nagants for $75 each so I found one with a low three-digit serial number (all matching parts).

Mosin Nagant 91/30

Now that I got the firearms, I needed to add some ammo.

The ammo was fairly cheap with some selling at about half price. I had to go back several times as there was a limit on how much you could buy at a time. I also bought some .223 online from Cabelas on sale slightly cheaper (free delivery with coupon code, no sales tax and the UPS guy carries it to my door).

Now much of my Christmas shopping is done.

Nice score man. Local gun shops around here RAISE their pices on black friday, I think. :P

What year mosin was it? Are there any refurb marks (Stamped square, or square with a line through it, among others) anywhere? If its a true non refurbed mathcing number mosin, you made bank for a $75 sticker price. At any rate, never hurts to have a mosin or 5 laying around, lol!

The Mosin must be a refurb but no other marks that I can find. Anyway for $75 bucks that's cheaper than using a C&R and paying for shipping on top of that. Besides, I have a boatload of cheap 7.62x54R that I have been shooting thru the PSL's. Just bought a case (two tins) of ammo from Sportsmans Guide. It's now the cheapest milsurp ammo out there. I keep "buying cheap and stacking deep" when it comes to ammo.

Yeah it would be very interesting if it WASNT a refurb, especialy a 91/30 but they are out there. Grab a pick of the markings and I can tell you, if you'd like. Mine are all refurbs, but they shoot just wonderful, the best among them being my '32 hex reciever Izzy. That thing shoots like butter and well under 4 moa even way out there (500 yards).

And like you said, its now the cheapest ammo on the market, or at least second cheapest cause I think 5.45 just came down a bit (12 cents a round now I think). Whats more is it is a VERY capable round.

At any rate, Im jealous. As some one thats been putting off an AR build for two years now (Hell, K-Os built one before me and Im the one that got her started!!!) you did very good!
