need some help plez,

I use windows live mail for my main e-mail, and yahoo is my provider.

well recently something has gone on with my windows live e-mail, where I get no messages downloaded, however I can send messages.

My password is correct.

I can log directly onto yahoo, and see my e-mails, but this is onerous.

any ideas, solutions, alternatives are appreciated...

thanks,
LS

I recommend using Thunderbird. It's made by the same group as Firefox.

Sarge u probably just need to update it.

If you're using the 2011 version of WLM you should have done a repair at some point to fix the Junk Mail filtering. Go to Programs and Features, highlight "Windows Live Essentials", a push the button labeled "repair/uninstall". In the next window choose repair. It will repair all components of live Essentials that were installed, including Mail.

ALSO, If anyone can please help me with a computer problem......
My screen keeps turning black every couple of minutes & if I'm trying to post something & hit "post reply" and the screen turns black I have to go & type it in again, lose my train of thought and I can't figure out what is causing the problem. The screen seems like it's jittery (and I'm the one whose drank da coffee) .
By jittery, I mean that when I type something it seems like the screen is a little shaky or something.
Mr Old Herb Man is the computer expert & I'm not even going to be able to get a hold of him until late tonite or tomorrow.

Sorry Large Sarge I didn't mean to mess up your thread, maybe we can just get some help all in one place instead of me asking on another thread.

If the monitor is just shutting off then it's a problem with the monitor. Failing power suppy would explain that and the jitters. In this case you likely have turn the monitor back on to see anything.

However, you said it happens specifically when you hit "post reply" and that you have to retype something, which sounds like something software related.

If the screen is just turning off, get a new monitor, they're cheaper and better than ever. If something beyond that is happening (ie your information is all gone when the monitor comes back on) then you have some sort of software issue. If the entire computer is rebooting after monitor failure, it could mean issues with your power outlet affecting both.
