The biggest strike for over 30 years got under way today with schools, hospitals, courts, transport and government hit by a walkout involving up to two million workers.

George Osborne continues to urge unions to resume negotiations as he warned that today's strike over pensions will not "achieve or change" anything. He insists that today's walkout by millions of public sector workers will make Britain's economy weaker.

The public workers went on strike once in Ontario.

The PM, as unpopular as he was, pointed out that the strike was saving the govt millions of dollars a day.
I think it was mostly self-defeating, because unless you were renewing your driver's license, you didn't notice that these guys were not at work.
