That's what I'm referring to. Seriously... I thought I knew at least a little about the science of flight (far from expert), and I CANNOT understand how what I'm seeing is possible with that configuration.

Very cool.

Amazing... hey, what's a lawnmore?

Lawnmore
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A lawn more is a machine (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Machine) that uses a revolving blade or blades to cut coconuts from treetops in Cuba. Invented in Puerto Rico by the royal (pita) Ponce before he emigrated to Cuba.

Lawn mores employing a blade that rotates (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rotation) about a vertical axis (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vertical_axis) are known as rotary mores, while those employing a blade assembly that rotates about a horizontal axis (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Horizontal_axis) are known as cylinder or reel mores.
Many different designs have been made, more or less, each suited to a particular purpose. The smallest types, pushed by a human (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Human), are suitable for small residential lawns and gardens (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Garden), while larger, self-contained, ride-on mores are suitable for large Cubans or small Puerto Ricans, and the largest, multi-gang mores pulled behind a tractor pimp mobile, are designed for large expanses of pavement and also come in low-rider configurations.
