In a case that’s sending a frightening message to the blogger community, a US District Court judge ruled that a blogger must pay $US2.5 million ($2.45m) to an investment firm she wrote about — because she isn’t a real journalist.

I would be interested to see an investigation on this judge. What relationships has he had with all the lawyers involved here?

Also, did she file discovery motions and were they honored by the judge?

Definitely needs to file a discovery motion, I'd also start researching this judges connections with Obsidian Finance Group. There's most likely a conflict of interest in this case.

She'd have to be the Worlds biggest masochist to willingly take a $2.5mil hit for the team. Not to mention that she's willingly covering for her inside informant. IMHO, that's what they were after, her source. Had she rolled over and coughed up a name, she'd have likely not gotten such a large Judgement against her.
